Short answer, no. None of the overlockers have a speed half speed, most sew at 1500 stitches per minute which does take a little time to get used to.

Sewing machine hums at first then takes off is there an adjustment to stop this?

Foot pedal or speed control is sticking. Open it up and apply grease or do whatever you have to to restore smooth fluid operation.

How do I adjust the sensitivity of the foot pedal....to control the starting speed on a Kingstar KS 8700

Sometimes there is a button or screw under the foot control unit or there is actually a speed control button on the machine itself. However, since yours is an industrial machine, they are made to sew very fast for production. You might try contacting their Support group or a dealer.

I have an old elna lotus sp sewing machine and need to reduce the speed on the foot control is this possible

The Lotus should have the integrated foot controller and power cord in one. Some of these had a switch on the foot controller which reduced the power to half speed. That's the only way to adjust the speed other than the foot on the pedal. The later models Air Electronic have a slide speed control on the front face of the machine which made life easier.

How check motor burned up

Loosen the belt and try to see if it will run. If it runs then you need to redo your adjustment. The belt can't be too tight or too loose and it must be perfectly aligned. The best way to do this is remove the top thread. While pushing the foot speed control adjust the belt tighter, more loose and side to side until the motor is at it's maximum speed. Tighten the motor and retry. While doing this be careful!

Hesitates at start

Industrial machines are usually clutch motors. Some have speed settings right on the motor. But if you want something that works more like a home machine with a variable speed control.... You might want to locate a servo motor for it...

Can not start at a slow speed with foot pedal need to now how to adjust start speed

THE FOOT PEDLE IS NOTHING BUT A REASTAT. A REASTAT IS A WIRE WRAPPED AROUND A CONDUCTOR THE WINDINGS START OUT FAR APART AND GET CLOSER TOGETHER THE FARTHER YOU PUSH THE PEDLE DOWN . THE FAR APART WIRES ARE THE SLOW SPEED THE CLOSER ONES ARE FASTER SPEED
THESE WIRES WILL WEAR OUT OVER TIME OR CORRODE OVER TIME AND CAUSE THIS PROBLEM. TRY SOME ELECTRICAL CONTACT CLEANER AND SPRAY THE FOOT PEDLE INSIDE ANY WHERE YOU CAN AND LET DRY. MOST CONTACT CLEANERS ARE NONE CONDUCTIVE AND DRY IN MINUTES

Singer 6215 speed controller will not feed slow enough

Some controllers have some adjustment for speed others do not. Depends on the type of control. If it is all or nothing than it is probably just bad and can be replaced.
