Do pet playpens rust? From what I can see, most of them are made from metal.

Although there are metal playpens, they are made from other materials. Rusting depends on what type and quality playpen you purchase. If you are using the playpen outdoors, make sure to fold it up and store it safely when not in use - this will ensure less chances of rusting.

What are the advantages of buying a pet playpen for my new puppy?

Buying a pet playpen will allow your puppy to run around and have space to play (assuming you buy one that is big enough), without letting him go crazy with your furniture. Playpens can be a great alternative to putting your pet on a leash.

How do I clean my pet playpen?

Cleaning your pet playpen depends on the material it's made from. If it's made from wire, you can just wipe it down with a damp cloth. If you have a canvas one, that is much trickier to clean but most come with wipe clean mats and you can just use wipes and lightly soaped sponges to clean them. Then leave them in the sun to dry.

How big should my pet playpen be?

That question really depends on the type of pet that you have. A dog will need a much larger space to move around in than a small guinea pig. It also depends what you need the playpen for. If it's just to use for a short time, you don't have to worry so much about the .

How do you lock an Avalon on the move series playpen? Where do I get instructions?

  • These playpens have a safety feature.
  1. First thing is to make sure the center of the playpen is up in the air.
  2. First lock the short side rails. They will click into place.
  3. Now lift up and lock the long set of rails.
  4. Now you want to push the center piece (floor) down all the way.
  5. Now your playpen is set up.
  6. When you go to put it up you will pull the floor up first and then release the side rails.
  • Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa.

Trying to put together a Foundations playpen but sides will not

The "trick" with the collapsing the foundations playpen is to step on the middle ring while pulling up on the "quick release latch in the middle of the long sides first, then the short sides.
Works every time!

Putting up and taking down of Graco Avalon playpen

If you take the mattress pad out and collapse the base, you can then lock the sides. I was in the same boat as you. Very frustrating. Hope this helps.

Instructions for Avalon ''On the move series'' playpen

I have had this problem with one of my daughter’s playpens. What I did was take the mattress out then pull the bottom part up. After that I pushed the buttons underneath the top rails and pulled up on those as well. For some odd reason this playpen WILL NOT collapse until you pull the bottom up. Hope this helps.
