Question about Danby DPR2262 Top Freezer Refrigerator

Danby dpr2262w - How do I remove the drainage containers on back of unit?

I need to remove the drainage containers (the ones that stack vertically on the back of the unit) but it seems like I have to take apart several sections just to slip them out. Is there an easy way to do this? The item I'm calling the containers are listed as D5 in the dpr2262 user manual. Unfortunately, we didn't get back in time to change tanks and some meat went back and the containers were filled with nasty juice :(

SOURCE: Our Danby DFF8850 is having

Hi,
First I would check the fan in the freezer. Listen to see if it is running
It moves air to the ref from the freezer
Then check to see if freezer control is turned WARMER, which makes the Ref. colder
Also this might be a common Defrost problem, Ice
is not being melted by the defrost system. The fan can't blow through the coils into the fridge.
Take out back panel of freezer to check for ice buildup. The coils should be clean.
There are three components to a defrost system- a heater, heater thermostat, and a timer unless you have a defrost electronic card.
Its best handled by a Technician but you could possibly do it by taking your model number to the nearest appliance parts store and asking for the parts. They are mostly located in freezer ,behind back panel on freezer coils.except the card which is usually located in ref The parts store will have info
Also check fan undernearh Ref in the rear
Clean condenser coils underneath
Check cold control (thats where you turn it colder)

SOURCE: Danby DPR2262W propane refrigerator stopped cooling

OK-to make this short-you either have a boiler tube blockage or Hydrogen diffusion. If your cooling unit quit suddenly, you more than likely have a boiler tube blockage due to precipitation of Sodium Chromate. If your cooling unit gradually quit working it's Hydrogen diffusion. This process is not easy to understand, and I won't bother you with the details as to why.By the way, burping is a myth,it dosen't work.If there is a blockage in your cooling unit turning your refrigerator upside down won't dislodge it.Danby dosen't make stand alone Propane refrigerators anymore, and since the cooling unit is foamed into the box,it's a throw away refrigerator. You will have to get a Servel RGE 400 made by Dometic. It's the same size as the Danby and I have those for a very good price.Go to: www.marvinspropanerefrigerators.com

Hi There,
I have just spoken to one of our technicians and he said that if the there is a red blinking light that usually means that the bucket or drainage system is full. (1-800-26-Danby) We are available Monday to Friday from 8:30am to 4pm EST.

I just recently purchased an air conditioner and I need some help with the installation. In the booklet it says that if you want continuous drainage that you need to have the continuous drainage hose out...

The model you have has an evaporator feature, that normally evaporates the left over condensation. However, there are times that the humidity level may be to high to handle all of the left over condensation. In which case, the pan would need to be drained. In most instances, a plastic low sided container would suffice. But, if you run the AC unit in a continual mode, there's a good chance not all the left over condensation would be evaporated. That's what the hose is for. Not sure why there are 2 of them. Generally there's only one. Anyway, the unit also will shut down automatically, if the pan gets full and needs to be emptied. It will not run until it's emptied. But, I caution you not always rely on that. Anything can go wrong when you're not at home.

Hope this helped you understand how the unit operates. If you have any more questions, call Danby's Customer Support Dept. The 800 number is in your Owner's Manual. They're good folks and will do what's necessary to help you.

The draining tube / tubing somewhere has a gooseneck similar like the one under your kitchen sink. That is to prevent air from coming up the tube. The area above the draining tube is supposed to be kept ice-free either by the closeness of the defrost heater or it has itself a heater built in.

Danby add water cycle, water being pumped out.

The pump acts as the drain valve. It sounds like the pump check valve is not working and you will probably have to replace the entire pump. The pump is fairly easy to replace.

Verify that the outlet from the pump goes directly to the drain hose. If so, the only other thing you can do is remove the drain pump and disassemble it to see if something is stuck in there or something. However, this is a more advanced procedure so I would recommend against it. Replace the pump.
