Hi, you can download the vga driver here:

Please select your windows version.
Select the vga driver and download it.
Unzip the file before installation.

There is no jumper settings for adding a video card.
It has an AGP (Accelerated Graphics Port) 8x/4X slot.
You can also download a manual:

Install a sata drive on msi 7142

No jumpers... do need to check that it is Turned On in the BIOS. Really by default it should be on. Sometimes the SATA shares a port with the current PATA. You may not be able to use both. When you are in the BIOS you can see what drives it sees... if it is not there... try just the SATA one... if it detects then you problem is solved... well not really, you need both.
Situation 2... if it sees both in the BIOS, then you will need to FDisk the Drive and Format it. Windows will not recconize the Drive until you do those utilities. Location to do so: Control Panel | Administration Tools | Disk Manager | you should see the new drive... CAUTION: don't mess around here. Only make changes to the new drive.
Situation 3... you can buy a add-on card to add SATA Ports. You MB uses 1.5 mps speed the add-on will be 3.0... faster... plus you could add on while using your PATA Drive.

I need to disable the onboard video by finding the jumpers on the motherboard (MSI 7191 Version 1.1). When I installed a new PCI card (because the onboard video is broken) the computer freezes up and...

Go to the device manage and instead of disabling it, uninstall it. Then power down, move the cable to the pci port. reboot, when windows brings up the new hardware found, hit cancel until it disappears. Go back to device manager and if it has re-appeared uninstall it again and go about your business.

No power to graphics card

Double check that the video card is seated completely in the motherboard.

Double check or even reseat your RAM and make sure that it is completely pressed in with the locks in place.

With your computer powered down (still plugged in) Reset your CMOS. (by pulling the jumper off (2 pin) or moving the jumper to the other pin (3 pin setup). *for the 3 pin set up, the jumper may be located on pin 1-2, move the jumper so it is on 2-3. Then switch the jumper back to its original position after 30 seconds or so. Your CMOS jumper pins are typically located toward the bottom right hand side of the motherboard.

If still nothing, test the video card in another system to see if it works. If not, then we may have a dead video card and may have to either return or RMA it back to the seller/distributor.

For user BIOS21 & julio1963,
How to enable you're (Add-in AGP video card) & disable the onboard, integrated S3 graphics UniChrome 2D/3D PCI graphics card.
Enter you're bios. Open you're user manual to page 3-13. Integrated Peripherals. Go to, Init display first. Set to AGP.
(Not to PCI). That is all you need to change. The MSI bios will than see you're add in AGP card & automatically disable the PCI S3 graphics, (Onboard) card.

If I can help you further, feel free to post here.
Please, each user's vote this issue as a fix, if this helped you to get you're bios to see you're new AGP graphics cards.
