SOURCE: Finding replacement Power Supply for Altec Lansing

I did the same! Thanks for suggesting a call to Customer Support (800)258+3288. The guy didn't seem overly pleased to help, but he did promise to send me a new power supply. Also, he said that they don't make the iM7 anymore, but I had already found out that the iM9 uses the same power supply. I, too, will wait and see.

SOURCE: Compaq Presario v2000 ALTEC LANSING speakers not working

Go to "Start", "Control Panel", Administrative Tools, Computer Management, click on "Device Manager" on the left hand side and look on the right hand side. See if you have a yellow exclamation next to the "Sounds, Video and Game Controllers". If yes, double-click on the line with the exclamation and then click on the driver tab at the top. Click update driver and when it asks if you would like to to check the internet for updated drivers, tell it yes, this time only and continue. After this process, it should either download and install a new driver for your sound card or install the one that was shipped with your computer. If this does not work, please let me know and we will check the next possible problem.

Please remember to rate this solution.

SOURCE: What's the volt & amps of Altec Lansing AVS300 2.1 speaker system

Your adapter is Part No. AVX300-A6859, Model No. 9701-00748-IUND.
Or You could get a universal that is rated for output of 18volt DC, 650ma, Center Positive.
I have used a 15volt DC, 900 ma with no problem, but I never run the volume high.

Good Luck

SOURCE: Altec Lansing ada745

I work for a charity that had one of these donated today and as I was looking for a new sub for my cinema system I purchased it. I have no other speakers with it and no way of switching or varying the volume. I opened up the back of the sub and slid the board partly out exposing the PCB.

You'll see 3 solder connections behind the scre in an "L" configuration. One of them is common, one volume and one power on. As I don't need volume, I'm happy with it being on full as my cinema system will vary the input, I joined all 3 together giving power on and full volume. It is working great now.

For you guys with volume controls, I would suggest shorting out the two rightmost pins in the "L" and I recon this will power it up and try varying your volume control. I recon it'll work just great.

Good luck

How can I splice Altec Lansing amplified speaker system 221 to ac power supply cord instead of the computer cord

Not a good idea. The receptacle that the computer cord plugs into has EMI filters in it. Bypassing it would cause an AC hum that you'd never be able to get rid of.

How can my laptop charger fit to computer speaker?

Please do not modify your laptop charger to power your speakers. The laptop charger probably has too high a voltage and amperage output. (USB chargers don't provide a large enough output.) The Altec Lansing ACS40 speakers need a 15V 900 mA power transformer; the coaxial power connector has the positive voltage on the center pin. The model number on the transformer is 4815090R3CT . This is available through Amazon.com and other vendors. One vendor is http://www.emtcompany.com/altec-lansing-4815090r3cac-power-supply-charger-adapter/1010666.html .

I hope this helps.

I have XA3021 altec lansing but the power cable missing. Anybody can help me to get a new one?

Hello

Its original line chord is of polorized plug type. You can use any type of power chord. Choose the best quality, and compactability to your Altec Lansings' AC socket. That is all. The line voltage and frequency will differ according to your native place. If you are from US/Canada or other Latin American countries, the supply voltage will be 120AC;60HZ and for Europe and United kngdom it will be 230AC;50Hz. This is the only difference, and it will not effect the used power chord at all. OK.

Altec Lansing computer speakers , power requirements

You have to find out what the speakers are rated at then go form there. There is usually a placard or sticker on the back that says what watts and voltage they are rated at. Then you have to find out what plug goes in. Or you just buy an OEM plug
