My 2005 stratus was driving 65 down the interstate when I heard akot of clunking and I pulled over and it shut off tried to start it and battery was dead

is the battery dead or is the engine seized up. the lots of clunking indicates a bigger problem than the battery

Daughter ran over rock and cracked oil oil light come on but wont start back does engine have oil psi shut down

the oil pressure required to start is only like 3psi on a ford which is about 5% of what it will be going down the road. Does it try to start at all or just a hard clunk when trying to start. If it just makes a loud clunk/click then your engine is probably seized and will need to be replaced.

The compressor makes a big clunk clunk sound when it shuts off

Hi,
The compressor motor mount is broken and that allows the compressor to flop around and clunk when shutting down.
That also allows it to twist and turn as it starts...
this will have to be fixed before the refrigerant piping breaks...

Motor won't start and mower very difficult to push

is there a puddle of oil under where it made the clunking sound, that would mean the engine is blown. another thing to check is to see if the motor bolts that hold down the motor came loose and is hanging down there by keeping the pullys from moving right..good luck

I have a new 4 ton 15 SEER AC. It has been cooling great. Last week I have been noticing when the AC shuts off there is a loud clunk noise. What is going on? Thanks Steve

Is the clunk in the outside unit?
If it is it could be the mounts holding the compressor to the bottom or it may be the mount is broken on the inside of the compressor. Such as you hear when an old refrigerator
shuts down. Could be other things also. The first is most likely.

HP 2410 printer won't boot up, just makes a clunking sound.

Someone just had a similar problem.
Unplug your printer for a few hours.
Plug it back in and the problem clear.

Freezer noise

clunk comes from the compressor - possibly dismounted or sometimes assembly inside hits casing on switch off or switch on. no cure except replace compressor
