Question about Hoover F7205900 SteamVac V2 Wet/Dry Vacuum

Hoover SteamVac V2 - won't release water

We've had the SteamVac for a couple of years and had no problems with it. Recently, however, the water has stopped coming down. The detergent releases just, and the vac sucks up the detergent to the waste bucket , so those mechanisms work fine. Has anyone run into this problem? What was your solution? Thank you!

Re: Hoover SteamVac V2 - won't release water

Sorry this is so late. the problem might be that the tubes are clogged. after each use most people just put the machine away. in most cases the soap is still in the tube,and when it hardens it clogs the tubes. after each use you should run clear water to get rid of any soap in the tubes before putting away.

Hi my hoover f7425-900 is not releasing water from the clean water tank but the detergent is being released can you help me? thanks

The most common reason for this problem is that the solenoid operated valve on the rinse cycle has failed, and is not opening. The solenoid assembly will probably require replacement.

I have a Hoover v2 steam vac F7430-900 the water container will not dispense water only soap yes, any idea to fix this problem?

This is most likely due to a problem with the solenoid on the rinse side not opening. The solenoid may require replacement.

I have a Model F7431-900 and is a SteamVac V2. When I press the trigger for water or cleaning solution, the water just runs right through it even after releasing the trigger. What kind of problem do I...

This sounds like a stuck solenoid. The Dual V models use solenoids to contol soap and water flow to the floor, along with a pump unit. If your unit is 12 months or less it is under warranty. I am not sure about the cost of the solenoid.

This is a notorious problem with the Hoover V2 SteamVac's. In fact the tank design by Hoover on your SteamVac was so bad, that Hoover redesigned this tank almost immediately due to the numerous problems customers were having.

For your particular problem, you really have two options. The first option is putting a bandaid over the problem, but will still fix it. We sell the entire gasket assembly on the bottom of the detergent tank as a replacement part. Unfortunately it's sold together with the seal, spring, and valve together as an assembly;

You also may wish to fix the problem completely by replacing the entire clean water solution tank. Hoover has redesigned this tank, and the new one I don't see near the amount of problems that I do on the older style tanks. The plastic is much more sturdy, and less prone to having the gasket and valve issues that the old tanks do. It's important to point out that the new tank does not come with the handle. You'll need to remove the handle from your old tank if you buy a new tank assembly complete. Rest assured that if you do purchase any part from GoVacuum, you'll have 60 days to return it for a full refund, just in case the repair doesn't work. Not only do we not deduct restocking fees or shipping charges, but we also include a return label with every order that you may use to return any item to us, and we'll even pay for your return shipping!

This is an older model Steam Cleaner. The upper tank, fill with hot tap water up to the fill line, then add 5 ounces of carpet solution to the water using the upper cap to measure. Make sure the lower letank is secured and turn it on, tilt the handle back, pull trigger to release solution to floor going forward, then release when pulling back slowly to extract. I am not sure if the manuals are available online, however you may be able to locate a Hoover dealer which may have a digital copy. They can be found through the

Under the detergent side, there is a metering plate,(located on the machine) which can be removed. ensure that this is installed. have you verified whether the machine will dispense detergent only without any water in the water tank?

I read the manual and tried my new Hoover, the brushes spin, but the waters not going to the bottom tank, what does that mean and what can i do?

I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure.
You could have a bad water release valve on your water tank of which holds the water, the trigger assm might not be connected, bent or broken. Check the trouble shooting owners manual --- also there are hoses that could be crimped or bent, or clogged or not connected, but it is my guess it is the water release valve. Try to back track the water from the holding tank and test all the valves on the system and you might find the problem by the process of elimination.
