My iphone turned off and wont turn back on. i've tried holding the home button and the button at the top but nothing will work. when i plug it into the charger on the wall the apple symbol appears. then...

1. Connect your iPhone to iTunes.
2. Hold the Home button and the Power button at the same time for 10 seconds.
3. After exactly 10 seconds, release the Power button but keep holding the Home button for 10 seconds or until iTunes pops up a message saying that it has detected an iPhone in recovery mode. At this point, click OK, then click "Restore" in iTunes.

sounds like its stuck in DFU Mode

If iTunes doesn’t see your iPhone’s cry for help, you may need to invoke recovery mode. Although it’s an extremely helpful mode, how to get there isn’t very apparent. Read on for the how-to!
As arcane as “recovery mode” sounds, it’s actually very simple:
Disconnect your iPhone and turn it off by holding the “Sleep/Wake” button for about five seconds and then sliding the red slider. If your iPhone is already off, there’s no need to turn it on and then off again. Once it’s off, press and hold the “Home” button and plug your iPhone into a Mac or PC with iTunes installed. Keep holding the “Home” button until you see a dock cable pointing to the iTunes icon. iPhones running older software will display a yellow triangle and text which says “Please Connect to iTunes”. Once you see this image, you can release the Home button.

Open iTunes (if it’s not already open) and you will be told that “iTunes has detected an iPhone in recovery mode.” Click “OK” and you will be taken to the iPhone pane. Click “Restore” and you’re done, it’s that easy! Depending on the extent of your iPhone’s ills, it may take some time to do a full restore. Once you’re done, you should again have a perfectly working iPhone.
If this doesn’t solve your problem, you may need to restore using DFU (Direct Firmware Upgrade) mode. To enter this mode, plug in your iPhone and turn it off. Hold down the “Home” and “Sleep/Wake” buttons for about twelve seconds. You’ll briefly see the silver Apple logo and then your phone will appear to turn back off. Release the “Sleep/Wake” button but continue to hold the “Home” button until you see a message in iTunes stating that it has detected an iPhone in recovery mode. Choose “Restore” and you should be fixed right up!
If this doesn’t fix your problem, your iPhone may require a visit to the Genius Bar

Error while syncing my iPhone to itunes-phone won't turn on now

in order to fix your phone, you`ll have to force it to DFU mode and then iTunes should be able to detect it. Once detected, it would ask you to update it to latest firmware. Afta the update your phone would work just fine.

To get it to DFU, follow these steps.

1.Connect your phone to PC.
2. Turn it off completely. To turn it off, press and hold the power button untill you get the the option, slide to turn off.
3. Then, press and hold the power button for 3 seconds.
4. Without leaving the power button, now press and hold the HOME button, for 10seconds.
5. Now leave the power button, but keep holding the home button for next 20 seconds.

The phone should be detected by the PC to be in recovery mode. Now, iTunes will help you update and/or restore your phone.

Check if you have lots of softwares installed on the phone, Try unistalling the latest app which was installed on the phone.

How do you turn of phone - no calls and turn off just roaming?

Enable Airplane Mode on your iPhone by choosing Settings, then turn airplane mode off.
This will disable the ability to:
Make phone calls
Send or receive email
Browse the Internet
Send or receive text messages
Stream YouTube videos
Get stock quotes
Get maps locations
Get weather reports

When in airplane mode you can still:
Listen to music and watch video
Listen to visual voicemail
Check your calendar
Take or view pictures
Hear alarms
Use the stopwatch or timer
Use the calculator
Take notes
Read text messages and email messages already stored

If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.
Thanks, Joe
