Ive just installed MoonOS main ed 2. I go to my friend who has DSL. and plug the cable to my lan port. I go to MoonControl menu and click on restricted driver. The rest is automatic. In 3 mins my laptop hp dv9000 with broadcom wifi works! Thats easy if you love MoonOs

Best bet would be to ask that question in linux forums. you have have to use ndiswrapper and install windows drivers.

Hi i am using ubuntu linux i need install netgear usb adapter wg111v3 how can i install in ubuntu please help me

NETGEAR does not offer any offcial drivers for the adapter to work on Ubuntu as they dont support Linux OS. However, you may try third party drivers to install the adapter on Ubuntu. Try the below link:

https://help.ubuntu.com/community/WifiDocs/Device/NetgearWG111

Hope this helps.

Cannot finddriver to run BT Voyager 1065 wireless pcmia card on PCLINUXOS Worked ok when windows ndiswrapper was used now only linux on dive, I cannot get card to work. Any clues?

Very few wireless will work on Linux without NDIS Wrapper. The brand doesn't matter in Linux, its all about the chip set and the worst of these (in my opinion) are broadcom chipsets. Which are unfortunately very common.

There are several attempts to remedy this:
  • http://www.hpl.hp.com/personal/Jean_Tourrilhes/Linux/Tools.html
  • https://launchpad.net/intellinuxwireless

It worked with my Samsung USB and some others.

...and several linux drivers for specific models on sourceforge...

Wireless driver problem

I am currently using Linux on a Compaq C500 with a Broadcom wireless adapter. Sounds like your wireless adapter is on of the ones that uses the b43 module like mine.

Aside from using the correct module, you also need a firmware image. Instructions can be found at: http://linuxwireless.org/en/users/Drivers/b43

Hope this helps and good luck with Linux! Once you fully switch to Linux you'll never go back to crappy M$ products!

Wmp54gs and Linux Ubuntu 7.10

I don't see the GS on Ubuntu's hardware list at all. I see older version, and they said some work, and some don't.

Hardware compatibility is, and will most likely always be an issue with any Linux distro.

Good luck.

My system is not detecting my broadcom network adapter 802.11 b/g WLAN

Is this a new installation or an existing adapter?

If new, make sure it's seated correctly in the pci slot.

When you plug the network cable in does the light on the adapter come on? If not, then your adapter is dead and it's going to need replaced.

Ubuntu 7.04 linux-install on Dell Laptop C610 doesn't see adapter!

Ubuntu is up to 8.04. They made a lot of improvements to the network interface. You should upgrade. Go to "system-administration-software sources-" click on the updates tab and then select normal updates under release upgrade in the updates tab. Ubuntu will then tell you that you have updates. State the update manager and click on the option to upgrade to the next version up. If you aren't sure how to do this write me back and I will help you.
