If you have the machine plugged in and you push the on/off switch and nothing happens (no sound, no lights, no action) then most likely your power supply has died. Good news is that it's easily replaced and is not very expensive.
Now if you mean that it turns on and THEN nothing happens, you have a much more complicated problem.
