If the pilot stays on, the thermopile and high limit are good. Check for continuity across the thermostat terminals when set at operating temperature. Usually, when you turn the temperature control up you will hear it click on. If the thermostat is good, the gas valve is bad. Replace it.

Pitco frialator excessive pilot flame

If you didn't figure it out already you lost the orifice on the pilot light. It's a little metal cup with a tiny hole in it that slips over the end of the gas tube in the pilot assembly. The orifice controls the size of the pilot light. Need to get a new one or find the lost part.

Pitco deep fryer flames coming out the fryer

Hi there.
The soot or carbon have probably build up inside the fire tubes, better check and have an authorized service technician clean them.
Make sure that the fryer is receiving the rated gas pressure and correct gas type as stated on the nameplate, this way, carbon or soot formation on fire tubes can be prevented
Regards.

I have 2 SG14 Pitco fryer, One of them have fail to work. It seems that the pilot flame is become smaller, but it will stay on. When I turn it to 325F, sometimes it will turn on the fire, but it will heat...

Have you tried adjusting pilot light or recalibrating your thermostat? it sounds similar to the problem i just had, but replacing the thermopile worked for me, but i also replaced my thermostat and high limit switch prior to the thermopile.I also made sure all my connections were cleaned. i'm not an expert by the way just someone who went through the same problem.

Pitco Frialator SF14 pilot will light and the burners will light but within an hour it completely shuts off (pilot and burners). The high limit and thermostat have been changed 1 month ago.

Check the hi limit sensing bulb, it should not touch the fire tube, when it does, it will sense high temperature which will trip its mechanical contacts and will shut pilot and burner flames.
Make also sure that the thermopile is free of soot or any form of dirt and is properly heated by the pilot flame.

I have a gas fryer (pitco) that has no electric running to it,why does it have wires running from the thermocoupling

The thermopile on gas operated equipment acts as small voltage generator when heated that energizes the pilot valve and main valve of the gas valve,. Without it, you will not be able to fire up your fryer.

Pilot is off.

Most fryers have pilot lighting instructions on the inside of the door. If yours doesn't then find the gas valve, turn the knob to the pilot position, push in on the knob and light the pilot. Keep the knob pushed in after you lite the pilot for at least another 30 seconds. The pilot should stay lit.

Check the continuity, flip the switch on and off using an ohmmeter, if the switch is ok, check the thermal fuse inside.(you have to open the unit) replace whatever is defective

This is caused by a failing pilot safty bypass inside the gas valve itself. You will need to replace the gas valve.
