Question about Computers & Internet
I'm trying to upgrade my RAM and I suspect that I need a BIOS update, where can I find it?
Normally a BIOS update is not necessary to upgrade RAM.
If the installed RAM is not shown in the syatem properties try the following 2 things
1. re-rate the pc by clicking the windows experience index in system properties.
2. Update your BIOS as per instructions from support site.
Hope this helps

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
New users get to try the service completely Free afterwhich it costs $6 per call and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

SOURCE: updating BIOS
This is the Paddy_solver and since you are not able to find the bios upgrade i am giving you a link from where you can download your bios update however before you would do it lemme tell you it can crash your motherboard as well i would say if your computer is working fine you better not do it if your computer administrator has said so please go for it.
Link to download :-
when the website would open you have to look in the middle of the page where it says "BIOS UPDATE TOOLS"
NOW BEFORE YOU WOULD INSTALL OR DOWNLOAD ANYTHING PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU SHOULD KNOW THE BIOS INSTALLED ON YOUR LAPTOP FOR THAT YOU HAVE TO ENTER THE BIOS EITHER BY PRESSING "DELETE KEY" OR "F2 KEY " ONCE YOU RESTART THE LAPTOP TRY IT BOTH THE KEYS ONE BY ONE IF YOU ARE NOT ABLE TO GET TO THE BIOS.
AND ONCE YOU WOULD SEE THE BIOS IT WOULD EITHER SAY "AWARD BIOS" OR "PHOENIX BIOS" ONCE YOU KNOW WHICH BIOS YOU HAVE THEN DOWNLOAD THE FILE ACCORDINGLY.
HOPE THIS INFORMATION IS USEFUL FOR YOU IF ANY FURTHER QUREY YOU CAN CONTACT ME AT MY EMAIL IE:-
Thanks and Regads

SOURCE: Update BIOS for memory upgrade
You cannot change the memory settings in BIOS. All you need to do is go into the bios screen. confim that it has seen your new memory and "save and exit" If it is not showing your new memory try removing and reinstalling the memory confirming it is installed correctly. it should just see it.
