I have this same problem. Any fix? Can I buy and install a new latch? Will I have to remove the entire door to access it?

1996 lincoln continental door latch does not lock/unlock door from inside or outide...door stays open basically...door latch has no response, unlock/lock switch works

I have the same problem.(Door will not stay closed) The door latch itself seems worn to the point where the linkage from both the actuator or door handle causes the latch to get stuck. I can free it with a screw driver applied where linkage connects to the latch, but it will stick again. Dealer wants over 300 with actuator. I am looking in junk yard for part. Remove door panel, somehow disconnect linkage from latch. It makes more sense to remove 3 hex or star screws 1st (27mm) so latch will be more accessible. My problem is the door latch, not anything else. Good luck

CONTROL LOOK STAYS ON

This usually means you have a problem with the door lock/latch assembly. Replace it with the part linked below.

What is code F22 on sport duet washer? The locking mechanizm buzzes a little, and when you push start it's locked and stays locked, and you have to stick your hand up in it to unlock it.Thanks.

Hi,
"F22" is a door latch failure error code. At the beginning of the wash cycle the door will attempt to lock several times. If the latch fails to lock, the washer shuts down and the error code is displayed.

In some cases, the error code can also be displayed if the CCU goes bad. There is a door latch relay on the board that controls the door locking mechanism. The CCU is not serviceable and must be replaced if defective. In addition, make sure all the connector plugs between the CCU and door latch are connected and snug.

Thank you !!

I have a self cleaning oven, I tried to set it to clean, it locked but did nothing else. It would not even release the latch to open. We did get it open but the latch did not retrack. It was forced open...

Your lock motor may be jammed and that's sending the wrong signal to your electronic control. Usually just replacing the lock motor is sufficient, but in rare cases the control needs to be replaced too.

Never heard of that; I would try a new door latch as I have never had a bad control issue with the operation of the door latch. There is no real way to test it. I can getb you the latch if interested. I cannot see your reply due to some tech issue w/ the site, so it may be a day or so before I can reply again. Please leave feedback for me if appropriate. Thanks

try wiggling the door latch to get it open if not try the cleaning process, if that works, and see if the door comes unlatched and the light goes off. if not the lock light switch is stuck and it will need to be taken apart and cleaned

Samsung CLX3160FN: scanner stays locked

Hi Stijntje,

The scanner lock is actually a physical locking mechinism. It is not a control panel option.
the scanner is locked in a safe position before they ship the unit to prevent damage to the scanner.

I believe that this sliding latch can be located ( while looking straight at the unit ) on the under side of the scanner, above the area where the paper comes out, more to the left hand side.

locate the latch and slide it from the locked position to the unlock position.

Press stop/clear button to clear the error and try again.

Good luck,
