Question about Crosley Washing Machines

How to fix my Crosley washer on/off switch

The power switch stopped working, it will not turn on. The plastic cover for the electronic control panel has bubbles over the control panel areas for on/off, temperature, load size and cycle. The bubble over the power section has cracked and broken apart. I don't know if it's a problem with the actual electronics or with the cover for the control panel and want to know how to determine how much needs to be replaced.

SOURCE: How to remove the washer cycle selection/start-stop knob on a Whilpool Heavy Duty Thin Twin stacked washer dryer

I believe the selector knob on a Whirpool just has to be turned counter-clockwise with the selector pushed in. It will spin off the shaft and then the outer indicator dial will pull off. The shaft also has a keyed slot that will only allow the dial to be removed and installed one way, so there should be no question as to how it goes back on.

Was there a reason as to why you are removing the washer selector knob? If this is a simple matter of replacing a broken water temperature selector, you shouldn't have to remove any of the control knobs to gain access to the selector. The entire front panel comes off by removing the screws holding it in place. That way you can access the broken selector from behind the front panel much easier. Just remove the panel right above the washer top (under the dryer) and it should expose the front panel mounting screws. Remove these screws and the front panel comes off. Just make sure the unit is unplugged before you begin. I hope this helps you. Let me know if you need further assistance.

SOURCE: Water fill control

it overflows from the tub then:
This can either be a fault in the fill sense tube( small tube connected to the bottom on the outer tub from the sensor at or near the top of the washer housing ) becoming blocked or broken or a fault with the sensor itself. There is a mechanical adjustment for the level but it is a little fiddly to get the adjustment just right.

If it overfills from the drain hose:
then either the drain hose is too low and the water siphons out before it reaches the maximum or there is a tight seal at the drain hose to house drain port which will cause all the water to siphon out, this can also be caused by a drain hose being pushed too far down the house drain port.

SOURCE: Hi, Hotpoint Wm72 stopped E30 came up in info

Electronic pressure switch circuit faulty (frequency of pressure switch signal out of limits)

Possible causes are;

Electronic pressure switch; wiring; main PCB.

Unplug the appliance and take the top off.

Locate the pressure switches (there may be 2, some have only 1).

Take the thin tube off of the switches and block one tube with your thumb.

Blow as hard as you can down the other tube.

Refit the tubes and try the machine again.

If still the same you'll need to check the wiring between the pressure switch and the main pcb (front right or in the facia depending on the type fitted).

If after this it's still faulty you'll need to begin changing parts, starting with the pressure switch(es).

It appears your timer/main controller/CCU has failed in this instance.

For replacement parts - head on over to or and enter in your full model number for a full parts listing.
I recommend both sites because ...

FixYa has no affiliation with either site - I have been using and recommending them for years - trouble free.

PartSelect has a great schematic database for locating the part on your unit and great "testimonials" for each part that often times includes HOW-TO information.
RepairClinic has pictures of each part they sell and also a great how-to and troubleshooting for basic repairs.

If your unit has never been serviced - there should still be an original service manual enclosed in plastic taped to the inside of the shell.
In the service manual are Error codes, maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting steps you can follow.

Anything too complicated or beyond your scope should be handled by a professional.

If you think you want to tackle the repair - and have gotten stuck on a step - reply to your question and I will be glad to help you out.

SOURCE: I have a 2004 GE Profile Washer with an electronic

Sorry for the trouble if this doesn't fix it you will have to replace the control board first make sure the unit is unplugged then next you will have to remove the dash there are 4 screws at the top of it they will be a Phillips head bit or a star or hex head remove those then slide the dash down. Next remove all the wires that are plugged into the board be careful so you don't break a pin and once that is done let it sit for 10 minutes then plug all wires back into the board and don't worry about getting wires plugged into the wrong ports it cant happen there all different and once that is done slide the dash back into place and plug it in and see if this fixes it if it doesn't you will need to replace the main bored hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa!

Crosley CAWC529PQ1 won't turn on.

First, you'll need to make sure you have the proper voltage at the outlet, and the power cord terminals fit tightly into the outlet slots. Based on your post, you most likely have a faulty electronic control board.
Here is the board to order.

Duett Washer Diverter valve not working, F 13 alarm code.

I fixed my Duett diverter valve by unsoldering the tiny switch from the pc ( printed circuit ) board, and replacing it with another similarly sized switch from an electronics store ( Active Electronics). The switch cost less than 30 cents, and after I slightly modified the plastic snap on cover ( the switch I bought was 2 pole instead of the original 1 pole) my washer worked again! ( I did have to sand down the plastic switch button a bit ,as it was longer than the original one).

My washer will not stop filling and overflows the tub.

Good day,
If shutting off the power to the machine stops the water flow, then the water valve is O.K.
Three possibilities.
1. The pressure switch in the control panel has failed. or....
2. The plastic hose going to the pressure switch has come off ..or
3. It is plugged up where it is connected to the bottom of the rear of the tube and must be blown out.

You can access the pressure switch and hose by removing the 2 screws at each corner of the counsel ( may be hidden by plastic covers that have to be unclipped) and then lift slightly forward and then flipped completely up and over.

Motor starts and stops continually

Dear loliver2,
When trigger is shut, pressure builds up in machine and this activates a control-valve or often called a Spill Valve. This Spill Valve compresses with the built up pressure and switches off a micro-switch...which in turn stops the machine. Now when this Spill Valve gets faulty, it starts compressing and de-compressing undr pressure. Thus the micro switch is activated on and off. That is why your machine is starting and stopping. Now this Spill Valve also controls pressure. So to fix the fault you must change the Spill Valve with a new one. Myself I rarely service Spill Valves. You can locate the spill valve after you open the cover. The spill valve is usually covered with a plastic cap that contains the electrical micro switch. I do not know what model you have....but sometimes to improve the pressure you must also change the suction and delivery valves. But in most cases like is only the Spill Valve that is causing the starting and stopping and the low pressure.

Power Switch - Washer

I feel your pain, Amy. I've worked on this appliance and have experienced all the error codes and load balance problems, you've explained. There are many of you that wish they had not spent the extra money on this set.

Your problem is more than likely the User Interface Control board located under the console. Unfortunately, the power switch is not a separate part of the board. The board is sold as one assembly and what typically happens is one or more of the small buttons wear out (usually the ones used more frequently). Replacing the board is simple if you wish to pursue a repair on your own and avoid unnecessary labor charges.

You can go to and type in your COMPLETE model number. There are several variations of your washer listed, so make sure you type in the model number correctly. The part you need can be found under the "Control Panel Parts" heading as item number 7 (part #8564290). The card is not cheap. It runs around $113.

To replace the board follow these simple steps:

1. UNPLUG washer.
2. Loosen the three screws in the back of the control panel.
3. The control panel will lift from the back first, then off. Be careful not to damage the small interface cable that connects the control panel to the main control board.
4. Disconnect the interface connector and remove the control knob on the front of the panel by pulling straight out.
5. Place the control panel face down on a padded surface (like a stack of towels) and remove the series of screws that hold the Interface Control Board in place.
6. Carefully remove the plastic cover from the circuit board. It is held in place by a series of tabs.
7. Install new circuit board, using care NOT to handle the surface of the board with your hands. Handle the sides of the circuit to minimize the possibily of damage caused by static.
8. Install rear cover and reconnect the interface cable.
9. Re-install control panel by inserting the front section in the grooves on top of the washer first, then lower towards the back.
10. Tighten all screws and re-install control knob.

It's not a difficult repair at all. If you do not wish to order parts on line, you can use the part number provided and go to your nearest applaince parts retailer to see if it may be available. I hope this helps. Please post back if you have any questions, or require further assistance.

Crosley Front Load Washers FL Error

Flood Condition F L “FL” flashes if any overfill condition occurs. This condition occurs when excessive water in
the tub causes the overfill switch to trip. The control must realize that the trip was due to an
overfill condition instead of a suds lock condition in order for “FL” to be displayed.
With an overfill condition, the beeper repeats a warning every 10 seconds with no time out.
The pump is cycled in drain mode for 30 seconds on, 30 seconds off until the overfill switch
resets or power is discontinued to the unit.
Press STOP/CANCEL to clear the display.

Whirlpool dishwasher stopped working...

It sounds like the thermal fuse in the control console has blown.
Turn power off to unit.
Remove the outer door panel and then the console.
Remove the black plastic cover from over the circuit board if it has one.
You should see the thermal fuse clipped to the circuit board housing.
If you have an ohm meter, check for continuity across it, it should read closed.
If you don't have a meter, unplug the wires from it and and hook them together.
Turn power back on to unit, hold door switches down and cancel cycle. The washer should drain the water.
If this doesn't work, check your door switches to make sure they are closing properly.
