i try to turn it on but nothing happens, how can i know if the monitor gone?

Hi, normally monitors have an indicator light that lites up when power is applied. This changes color or another lites up when it receives video signal from the computer. If no light then most likely defective monitor.
Possibly the only way to positively check is to replace it with another known good monitor and connect to the PC. Power up and there should be a display. If there is then the 1st monitor is defective, if still nothing then it is the PC that is defective.
It might also be worth to check/replace the power cord and/or video cable if applicable.
Hopes this works out for you. Good luck and post again how things turn up.
