SOURCE: how can I download a users guild for goodmans LD3255HD

Not sure who makes this unit for Goodman's, but I recommend contacting Goodman's ( http://www.goodmans.net/contact.asp)
to see if they can give you a website to download the manual or if they have a manual or can order one for you.

Reset instruction for a Goodmans Freesat box

There are two methods to reset. The first is simple to do; a Hard Reset. The other is somewhat skilled; is a Factory Reset (System Reset). To make it a hard reset, just unplug the device from AC mains wall socket, and re-plug it back after 15 minutes or so. If you do this by overnight is better. This procedure will make it a hard reset. If you want to make it a system reset [Factory Reset]; you have to enter its service mode option, and select the factory reset option. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Pull up older posts. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/
Service mode entry, adjust and exit procedure to many popular brand TVs are given. Never forget to exit the service mode, after all adjustments have been done.

By emergency mode I am assuming that you have a heat pump connected to the furnace. If so your heat pump is not functioning properly. For this I recommend a service man. To many possible problems in a heat pump to diagnos over the computer

The picture on my goodmans lcd tv (less than 2 years old model ld3255hd I think) has become distorted over the past month. It does not seem to refresh fast enough, and the colours show up pixellated,...

Hi.

Your problem sounds like the lead that connects from main pcb to the lvds pcb.

These have gold coloured connections that become tarnished & dont make good contact.
You can try to sort this out your self but please be very carefull the fine wires on the plugs can be easily damaged.

If you do decide to have A go you will need tin of air duster & elecrical spray switch cleaner, You are only to clean plug & socket connections on lvds lead & pcb.
