I have a submersible Gould pump in a well. Recently air is getting into my system and coming out as irregular spurts. I replaced the water storage tank and the check valve, and the problem persists

Sounds like pump is not set deep enough and getting air. If the pump is as deep as it can go you may have to have to screen in the well changed or cleaned with acid pellets.

Gould water pump

That is one of two things. It is not pumping enough pressure to cause the pressure switch to trip. If the accurate pressure gauge shows it is above about 45 PSIG replace the switch, if not you have a problem with the pump. I am assuming it does not shut off. If it does then you have a leak, if a well pump it may be in the foot valve.

Gould j5s, pump not going above 15 - 20 psi, does this sound like it could be a priming issue or not since it is pumping some water?

how much pressure do you want with a 15 to 20 psi, really what are you pumping house water, you need more pressure to supply a home like a 60 psi with an exterol tank

Gould water pump not comming on

Check for power to the pump then check again after the built in pressure switch. You can get the manual from Flotec at: http://www.flotecpump.com/ResidentialResourcePage_resourcepage_ownersmanuals.aspx

If the motor buzzes then there is probably a bad start capacitor.

My gould pump won't cut off after 40 psi

As the pressure TANK only holds the liquid under pressure, you now have two good tanks.

Did you adjust the pressure switch or check it for operation?

Either adjust it or change it with a known good one.

My gould water pump in not switching off, what should i do?

First off what type of pump do you have? Either the pump is not producing enough pressure to trip the pressure switch or the pressure switch is defective. Is the a pressure guage in the system, what is the reading?

Gould 1/2hp submergible well pump cycles on and off constantly. low to no water pressure .The pressure switch remains in the closed position. Power to pump side of pressure switch good. pump runs 15...

My first thought was that of a water logged tank which causes short cycling, from your notes the tank is good (the tank may be partially water logged though) If the tank is ok and your getting short cycling (and the switch is good) I would guess your check valve down the well has failed. As the pump creates pressure then shuts off the water may be going right back down the well causing the pump to cycle again. This could also account for the poor water pressure as the check valve may be stuck slightly open allowing the system to loose pressure but only allowing a small amount of flow by when running. There could be a leak within the pumps drop-pipe and your loosing pressure through this leak. I expect you'll have to have the pump pulled.
I hope this may have helped,
Tom

Gould Water pump Problem

sounds like cavitation in the pump due to the introduction of air. Check for leaks or cracks in the suction line so air isnt being induced into the pump.
