Windows is corrupted....if you have windows installer...boot to the CD...then if it ask for repair, choose new install.....after the part of pressing the F8 for accepting the disclaimer then CHOOSE REPAIR WINDOWS....

It turns into blue screen with white texts and from below, its says terminating (memory-something) and has a countdown... and reboots itself. computer: Compaq Presario PC SR5050NX

Its probably saying memory dump and the countdown. This is mostly encountered after some kinda change on the pc. It can be new hardware, software or just plain windows update. Lots of times it ends up being a corrupt driver. Try to boot in to safe mode and see doe sit still do same thing. if not than you know it is software related and you can do system restore. To boot in to safe mode on reboot keep on tapping key F8 and choose safe mode. Once in safe mode if it works go to start, all programs, accessories, system tools and choose system recovery. choose like a week back and click next and this will do a restore to when pc was working, fine. If you cant boot into safe mode it is possible it has issues with hardware and this should be checked out by a pc repair shop. Another option you can try if same mode dont work try to do same thing on boot keep on tapping key F8 and instead choosing safe mode try choosing Last Known Good Configuration. this is similar to restore. Hope this helps.

By enforcing the option to return BACK TO THE LAST KNOWN GOOD CONFIGURATION you have nothing to lose. Respond if you have already selected that option with no success?

My lenovo keeps rebooting..when I select ''last known'' it shuts down and restarts the process again

Try to see if you can boot up the computer into safe mode. Keep pressing the F8 key as you turn on the computer and when it gets to the boot menu choose "Safe Mode".

If you can get into safe mode then go into the start menu and go into the system tools folder and then choose system restore. Choose a date on the calendar when the computer was last working properly and let the system reboot and hopefully that will take care of the issue.

If you can't get into safe mode or windows normally then that means windows is corrupted and you'll need to wipe out the drive completely and reinstall the OS and device drivers.

Try go into BIOS by hitting the DEL key or F1 or F2 as you start and go to save Cmos config. then reboot.
The other approach is Last known Good config is the best. This can be brought up after presing power button then by tapping F8 till screen apears.. Select Last known Good Config

Windows xp will not load on my computer....

It could be your hard drive problem. Which I called it, "Crash." I would suggest you try to format the hard drive and reload the operation system with your installation CD.

dot.gif How to load last known good configuration. Question: How to load last known good configuration.
Additional information: The "Last Known Good Configuration" option was first introduced in Microsoft Windows 2000 and is available in all later versions of Windows including Windows XP. This feature enables a user to load the last working version of Microsoft Windows. This is a great step to try when trying to fix issues with a computer not being able to load into Windows.
Note: Users able to open normal Windows XP mode and who wish to restore their version of Windows to an date before the last known good configuration may also wish to consider doing a system recovery in Windows. Additional information about how to do this can be found on document CH000589.
Answer: To load the last known good configuration in Windows 2000 / XP reboot the computer and as it's booting booting press and hold your "F8 Key" which should bring up the "Windows Advanced Options Menu" as shown below. Use your arrow keys to move to "Last Known Good Configuration" and press your Enter key. Trouble Getting into Windows 2000 or Advanced Options menu - If after several attempts you are unable to get into Windows 2000 or Windows XP safe mode as the computer is booting into Windows turn off your computer. When the computer is turned on the next time Windows should notice that the computer did not successfully boot and give you the safe mode screen.
Note: With some computers if you press and hold a key as the computer is booting you will get a stuck key message as the computer is booting. If this occurs instead of pressing and holding the "F8 key" tap the "F8 key" continuously until you get the startup menu.

Windows Advanced Options Menu
Please select an option: Safe Mode
Safe Mode with Networking
Safe Mode with Command Prompt
Enable Boot Logging
Enable VGA mode
Last Known Good Configuration (your most recent settings that worked)
Directory Services Restore Mode (Windows domain controllers only)
Debugging Mode
Start Windows Normally
Reboot
Return to OS Choices Menu
Use the up and down arrow keys to move the highlight to your choice.
As can be seen from the above example, you should be able to highlight and press enter to load the last known good configuration. Once completed the computer should restart and attempt to load into Windows. Will running the Last Known Good Configuration delete anything? No, running the last known good configuration will restore your last good system settings and will not delete anything. The only thing you may have to reinstall programs you have recently installed because the configuration for those programs may have been lost.
