Have you cleaned the fan , vents, and heatsink? Use a can of Compressed Air, you may have to open the laptop if it's to bad and use a small brush. Take a look at these tips: http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Gaming-Reply-Only/hp-g62-overheating-problem/td-p/536343 If you feel ambitious, try this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gxxV4gRTguk

Testimonial: "what happen with my laptop is that it doesn't turn on, I heard the hard drive works, but I don't see anything in the screen. I think may be is overheat or I don't know yet what exactly is going on with this. If you have some experience about it please let me know. I would appreciate."

I steel have the same problem, i didn't do anything jet because I went out the country, I spoke with somebody and he said in some cases is the power inverter, I didn't check that, but I read some forums and some said that this HP G62 341 NR notebook doesn't have a power inverter, I don't know if this is correct or no?

  • Luis Zelada Sep 23, 2013

i try to connect the screen from my desktop, but i didn't see anything. I don't want to give up.

Have you cleaned it? If it was overheating, it may have burned out the graphics adapter. laptops don't have a power inverter, the cord power "brick" is the AC to DC inverter. If you don't get any response when you connect a external monitor I would suspect the graphics adapter has overheated and burned out. If you have tested with a external monitor and you get no response, have cleaned the laptop of ALL dust, dirt, etc. the next logical problem is the Graphics Adapter, which means, usually, the laptop is done. Have you tried to boot in "Safe Mode"?

  • Luis Zelada Sep 23, 2013

Yes I cleaned, but steel the same, I didn't boot in "Safe Mode", I will try and then I will let you know in a few menutes.

I try, but only I got the same screen color like " white or silver ", and if I keep press F8 more longer it bigins to sound, when the noise is gone nothing happen. My son said that he dropped the laptop and then the screen color is like that, also in the up right side I see few white lines, I don't know may be I have to change the screen, but like you said if I don't see it anything in another monitor may be is no the screen.

After I cleaned the fan, also, I put thermal past on top of CPU and Video.

It's impossible to say what damage the dropping of the laptop did. If the laptop overheated before the drop and the screen/monitor didn't work that usually means the Graphics Adapter overheated and quit. That is ususlly the death of a laptop or replace the Motherboard, which is almost the price of a new laptop.

  • Luis Zelada Sep 23, 2013

but I don't understand why when turn it on, the screen is not black, it looks like has a light in-side, I will try to open again and check the connection from the screen and the motherboard, I hope find something.

When a computer is dropped, there is no telling what damage was done. If the Graphics Adapter has been overheated(cooked), you will get all types of lines, dots, colors, or nothing on the screen. It's impossible to say what a drop and cooked Graphics Adapter will do. Sounds like you have multiple issues due to overheating and the drop damage, it may be a expensive fix, if it can be fixed. If the Graphics Adapter is cooked/burned-up it's not fixable, you must change the Motherboard.

Batterie pour HP G62

Hello,

My HP laptop toggles between AC/Battery mode. I have replaced the charger and it still toggles, leading me to believe that it is a battery issue. I was wondering, is there any way for me to stop getting the notifications that it is toggling? I find them annoying and not at all helpful as the occur all the time.

I think the laptop is a HP G62. Check for the actual model number. If it is a G62 it should say G62 followed by some other numbers like G62-100EB then google the memory for it. I think it should be DDR3

It's an HP G62-367NR Notebook PC

Has the 'VISION' technology from AMD

When referencing to a computer; desktop or laptop; the inference should be to the model number.

With an HP it's the Product Number.

Whenim on my hp g62 for awhile the screen will go white

There is probably a intermittent problem in the actual LCD display or the built in board, either case the screen down the road will need to be replaced. Check www.ebay.com type make and model of laptop, refine search to screen, this will a idea of pricing.
