Wireless cameras are worthless. What benefit is it? It's the ugliest video result on the planet..any captured video will not record at a resolution to give you an absolute answer to who someone was entering your property since you most likely put this camera somewhere high and out of reach, correct? Oh, and I'd really like to know how you can install a camera "without any wires" as a previous post suggested... How the hell are you getting power to it if there aren't any wires? If you have to run power, why the hell wouldn't you just run a Siamese cable to it also and get much better video quality? I could go into the questions raised by wireless interference but I'm going to assume it would fall on deaf ears. Stay away from consumer grade wireless.

The use of a wireless CCTV camera has its specific benefits. One is that the wireless CCTV systems can be used anywhere since there is no cabling required. They are also easy to install and are flexible. In addition, owing to the fact that there are no cables and that they are easy to install, wireless cameras also feature lower cost.

I have a wireless surveillance system, 4 chanel. came with 2 cameras. have purchased additional camera. How do I get the system to accept camera?

I am going to write a short discussion because I feel this subject is best handled by a person that knows what they are doing. There are plenty of Youtube videos that shows you how to install a CCTV system. As you didn't mention what type of CCTV camera it is, can this topic become very lengthy.
Please look at this tutorial on youtube,

The old systems is not difficult to do it yourself if your technical minded, although the newer systems will require some IT background. I recommend a certified installer to assist you, you can damage the camera if you don't know what your are doing.

Get the correct cabling and connectors.
The easiest are the pre-crimped cabling for DIY and it is plug and play. No setup is usually required for the CCTV recorder to work unless the recording on the CCTV was disabled. Any other setup will require special tools.

You get 2 kinds to wired CCTV camera systems.
The old tech is analogue with a thick data cable and set of wire for power.
The professional installed cabling will require a technical person to crimp the CCTV cable with a special BNC crimping tool. The
The old systems needs to have
The newer systems uses LAN cables.
The newer systems requires an IT/CCTV tech person to set it up.

I think I answer you question--when?? Take the good CCTV camera and hook it up to monitor. Then hook up the CCTV camera and turn it on. Point the working CCTV camera at the bad camera that is turn on. Now, look at the monitor which is working with your operational camera. Look at the bad camera while it on, and see how many IR LED's you can see on the bad CCTV, while it turn on. You should be able to the IR LED glowing red. If not, then there is a problem with bad CCTV IR LED's. Short wire, no power to the IR LED's. stewbison

Installed wireless cctv in horse stables 4 mt x 6mt dont seem to

the gain is turned up to much this is washing out the camera
another possible cause is the auto iris lens is either not set properly or stuck open.

if you are using a "bullet" camera that may not be adjustable without opening it up and removing the camera from the aluminum housing.

its usually a tiny screw that you turn up or down. could also be that the CCD or cmos image chip is dying
