The lcd screen won't turn on

I have a Gateway 7322GZ PC Norebook. I turned the laptop on, and the screen turned on, so I turned it off again to put some software in that would wipe the hard drive. When I turned it on again, the screen wouldn't light up.

Its possible that your RAM has malfunctioned. I had this problem with a friends laptop, and you can try switching the RAM chips, or buying new ones

I'm having overheating trouble with my Gateway 7322gz. I'm looking for a repair manual to show me the best way to take it apart so I can clean it and replace the fans if needed

You don't necessarily have to take it apart. Simply taking a vacuum, and putting it close to the fans, while sealing one of them with tape works well enough. I tried this on an old HP and it works well enough. Compressed air is also OK.

Removing the Bezel off a gateway 7322gz

If you havent yet received a response, here it is:

First, turn the notebook over so that the bottom is up. Remove the 2 screws at the back (where all input devices are located) and I think also the one above where it is imprinted "Gateway 7322" (w/input rating and such).

WIth a flat-bladed scre driver (I recommend taping the tip so it doesn't gouge the notebook), insert it just under the Internet/email/zoom button - above & between the Prt Scn and Scroll keys. Gently pry up, and get the bezel to pop up some. DOing the same thing, go between the F1 & F2 keys and gently pry up the bezel there. With the LCD Screen all the way open (and flat), use fingers to gently manouver/pry the bezel off - being VERY CAREFUL you dont yank out the flat, white ribbon cable that makes all the buttons operate, which is attached to the bezel on one end and the motherboard on the other. Using fingers on the brown insertion area, gently move upwards the brown insertion socket to allow the white ribbon cable to come out. Too much force will break the ribbon enclosure, causing you MUCH greif and expense!! Take it from

Good luck!
