Question about Hitachi 50VS69 50" Projection HDTV

My tv is cutting off after about a minute on and

My tv is cutting off after about a minute and after it cuts off the blue light blinks frequently and it buzzes and cuts back on within 20 to 30 seconds what could this be the tv is only 1 and a half yrs old.its getting to where you can't watch a program.

Look in your owners manual for how to reset the Lamp Hours and see how many hours you have on the lamp. Your doing good if you can get 3000hrs. These type of lamps when they get weak will quit and the buzzing you hear is the lamp supply starting it up again. so in short, I would say you may need a lamp. Today's sets ( DLP's) which you have, you cant judge by the age, with those it's by the hours. Hope this helps and let me know...

Sony sxrd --cuts off after a few seconds then cut itself back on.


Symptom shows lamp is weak and requires replacement.
Please buy Sony original lamp for TV safety and good picture result.

Hi, tough question, could be lamp, lamp circuit is overheating,t-con module or you have a bad color wheel, the latter usually causes a hi pitched squeal periodically, you have 2 choices, 1. try replacing the lamp 2. call a tech and let them diagnose it, too many possibilities without doing some diagnostics, video-tek

Tv cuts off and green light flashes


Yup, it seems a lamp problem can give a blinking green light over the 10 times (1 - 10 times for diagnostic codes), but in my case rather than replace the bulb if it works for a minute then resets with the green light blinking, do what I did.
Take the lamp out and inspect it, it has breather screens top and bottom, if it cant breath because there clogged with dust, clean them, and you can remove the screens, use q-tips and clean the inside. I saved the cost of a lamp and it's working fine!

the tv will try to reboot a few times. just let i try and eventually it will start blinking red. if you could count the red blinks then i can further assist you.
