I would recommend this white noise machine. It's a bestseller on Amazon and has really good reviews: http://www.amazon.com/Marpac-Dohm-DS-Speed-Sound-Conditioner/dp/B000KUHFGM/ref=cm_lmf_tit_1

My washing machine has started making a terrible noise.

If your washing machine has started making a terrible noise, there could be several reasons for this. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can take to identify and resolve the issue:
  1. Check for objects in the drum: Sometimes, objects such as coins, buttons, or zippers can get caught in the drum and cause a noise. Turn off the machine and check the drum for any foreign objects. If you find any, remove them carefully.
  2. Balance the load: If the machine is making a loud banging noise, it may be due to an unbalanced load. Open the machine and redistribute the clothes evenly.
  3. Check the drum bearings: The drum bearings are responsible for allowing the drum to rotate smoothly. If they are worn or damaged, they can cause a loud grinding or scraping noise. To check the bearings, rotate the drum by hand. If it feels stiff or makes a grinding noise, the bearings may need to be replaced.
  4. Inspect the drive belt: If the drive belt is loose or damaged, it can cause a squeaking or rattling noise. Turn off the machine and check the belt for signs of wear or damage. If the belt needs to be replaced, consult your user manual for instructions.
  5. Contact a professional: If you are unsure of what is causing the noise or if none of the above solutions work, it may be necessary to contact a professional technician. They can diagnose the issue and recommend the appropriate course of action.
Note: Before attempting any maintenance or repair work on your washing machine, be sure to unplug it from the power source and read the user manual thoroughly. Also, follow any safety precautions recommended by the manufacturer.

Cycle stops at 12 minutes remaining in all cycles. Sounds like a grinding noise in unit. Then machine stops with Water remaining in drum. No blocks in pump. I run spin only to empty water. E11 code

Thanks for your post, Daniel!

Based off the information you have provided the cycles inside of your Frigidaire washer will stop at 12 minutes and making a grinding noise. I also see that you receive an E11 error code and that stands for a long fill time. I would recommend checking over the hoses to assure they are installed properly and not restricted. You may have an issue with your drain pump, motor, or water valve. I would recommend performing a reset on your washer and you can do that by disconnecting power from it for at least ten minutes. I hope this information is helpful to you. -Matt

Are there any home appliances that I can leave on and that would work as well as a white noise machine.

My mother uses a regular standing fan when she babysits my newborn. She just turns the fan on and faces it away from my baby, this way he is less likely to wake up, but he doesn't have cool air blowing on him either. It works like a charm.

What does a white noise machine sound like?

I think it kind of sounds like a fan. You can hear what white noise machines sound like by checking out the 30 second and 1 minute marks on this video on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A-TS3UMnnkY

Maytag bravos washer making a grinding noise. It seems to make this noise when the drum is moving, any suggestions?

Unplug machine and tilt it back. Pull down the white insulation board. remove the two screws holding the white/clear plastic guard in place 5/16 nut driver. and check the gear and belt ours had come off. Now it works just like new you will need a 13mm hex for putting the gear back up.

We pour the water into the machine - and it makes noise like it is brewing, but no coffee/water will come out of the machine Then other times it will only brew a half a cup of coffee???

It sounds like it is clogged.
In the manual it explains how to descale with white vinegar. Another thing to do is to take a straightened paper clip and unclog all openings where water goes through. Taking out the k-cup holder and cleaning is also recommended.
Keurig 866-901-2739 will walk you through these steps. They are very nice and this is what I did when I was having trouble with mine.
Good luck.

White noise in 745

It sounds like you have a couple wires touching that are not supposed to be. I recommend tracing all the wire from your radio all the way back to the factory amp. If the factory amp is getting power while the vehicle is off then this is what is causing the white noise. I hope this helps, don't hesitate to ask any additional questions and please don't forget to rate me.

Knocking noise

too little info. but a common cause of knocking is the loopers hitting or rubbing each other, an out of time issue. unfortunately i would recommend that you take it to a qualified repair shop to avoid greater damage.

My Maytag PAV2300AWW Performa is noisy on spin cycle

If you are talking about a loud sqeaking noise, this is usually attributed to a worn snubber ring and/or brake assembly. You cannot lubricate the snubber to get rid of the noise. In fact, you may damage the washer if you do. A small amount of corn starch can be sprinkled under the bottom tub support where the snubber ring is to get rid of most noise related problems (this will be the bottom round plate where it meets the casing of the machine). However, if the snubber is worn too much, or if the brake assembly is worn they must be replaced. I would recommend replacing the following parts:

Brake Stator: 1057484 Price: $7.45
Brake Rotor and Lining: 1032674 Price: $16.70
Snubber: 1055142 Price: $4.35
Brake Removal Kit: 997909 Price: $99.40*

*Brake removal tool is required in order to remove the brake assembly and/or to replace the snubber. There is a 200lbs spring located under the Brake Stator that must be compressed PRIOR to removal or you could cause injury to yourself.

You can find all your parts and information at repairclinic.com. I am not affiliated with the website. I am merely recommending them because I have used their service before. Plus, they use the same repair parts as your major appliance repair companies, but at a lower cost.

The parts required to make the repairs aren't very expensive, but the tool required to do it IS. Also, if you've never worked on this type of washer before, this is not a job that I would recommended to the average do-it-yourselfer. Maytag is real good abpout providing the necessary instructions with their parts, but this is a bit involved.

Post back with comments and let me know if this helps you.
