SOURCE: Refrigerator compressor runs only for

Hi

That could be caused by a problem in the compressor's starting relay or overload protector or a problem in the compressor itself... assuming nothing has changed in its power supply (added extension cord, etc.) which might just be hampering the compressor's operation.

Please check the bellow links to get a detailed idea along with pictures related to your issue:-

Add refrig charge! Model nppac8kwgx. Where?

Hallo

Fit ******* port(blue) to charge nipple onto the compressor.
Fit manifold port(yellow) to Refrigerant(keep tank close)
Fit discharge port(red) to vacuum pump.

Then:
1)First vacuum your system for atleast half an hour.
2)Close both values on gauge when half an hour is up.
3)Switch off vacuum pump.
3)Turn Refrigerant tank upside down and open it.
4)Now gently open ******* side a bit and close, repeat until no longer in vacuum.
5)Then turn fridge on and charge no more than 11psi.

I would strongly advise not doing this, let a professional refrigeration technician operate the recharge. Before changing remember if there's no refrigerant in the system then theirs a leakage.
Be sure that it's a shortage of refrigerant and not a blocked pencil dryer, low efficiency compressor, blockage in system and that all the controls operates as they should.
***Most fridges and freezers, basically all domestic refrigeration compressors enquiries a refrigerator technician to weld a charge nipple onto the charge port.

Regards

May I know the charges for the Samsung refrigerator freezer gas refill? Model no : RR1914BCASE/TL/2014

The last time I enquired the cost of recharging a domestic fridge cost about the same as for a vehicle air-con. The main difficulty is legislation (in Europe) and the falling price of new appliances has meant engineers who have the ability and equipment to recharge domestic fridge freezers are quite scarce.

If an engineer has to attend rather than have the appliance brought to him, the additional call-out charge generally means the alternative of a new replacement becomes quite attractive.

How does that thermostat work that sets the time for the defrost period?

Most domestic refrigerator timers are factory set and cannot be adjusted. The timer runs for a preset time in cooling and a preset time in defrost. Timer types are model-specific. Here is a video of a technician showing and explaining the testing of a defrost timer.

Is my Dometic refrigerator/freezer suppose to be frost free?

Hi Mrs Sandy! With regards to your concern, I believe that specific model of Domestic Refrigerator is not exactly a "no-frost" fridge, although it has a technology to reduce or prolong the time before it actually accumulate "frost" in its cavity.

What kind of freon does this model refrigerator need

Most all Domestic refrigerators these days use R134 refrigerant such as yours most likely uses. The easiest way to assure what type of refrigerant would be to access the compressor area and look on the side of the compressor. All compressors have a tag showing what type of refrigerant is used in the unit. If you have any further questions or if you need a detailed schematic showing how to access the compressor area message me back your complete model number and I will provide one for you.
Thank you,
Rick
P.s. Never assume a unit uses one type or another types such as R11,R12, and R22 are being phased out due to government regulations on the hazzardous chemicals found in refrigerants such as these. It is always best to check the compressor for the labeling tag.

Kenmore model (p) 66992 fridge with bottom freezer.Fan is working on bottom but fridge and freezer are not getting cold.

If the compressor is not operating to cool the unit then the most likely causes are the relay or the capacitor or the compressor. If the compressor is extremely hot then that tells you the compressor is getting power but not working. If it isn't hot then it probably mean that either the relay or the capacitor is not allowing power to get to your compressor.

My refrigerator broke i think it is the ice maker unit i would like to find out if it is that or something else

Good day,
An ice maker is an accessory. It would not cause the refrigerator itself to not function.
Here is a list of the major reason a refrigerator will not function.
I don't know what you mean by "broke".

Items that will cause a refrigerator not to cool.....
1. Defective thermostat
2. Defective freezer fan motor
3. Defective defrost timer
4. Defective defrost thermostat
5. Defective defrost main heater.
6. Defective condenser fan motor
6. Defective compressor overload protector
7. Defective compressor start relay
8. Defective compressor start/run capacitor (some models only)
9. Defective compressor
10. Restriction in refrigeration sealed system
11. Loss of refrigerant (leak)
12. Excessively dirty condenser
13. Broken wires, bad wire harness connectors, etc.
14. Defective fan motor switch (some models only)

The compressor on my Sears Coldspot is running at 175 degrees.

Refrigeration compressors used in domestic refrigeration are known as high side compressors, meaning the dome is at high side pressure and temperature.

As long as the condenser fan was running, and the coil was as clean as you could get it, then all is OK. There is no standard temperature that it runs at, and it has been tested to run hot anyway. The fact that you cleaned underneath will allow it to run a little cooler anyway.
