As I'm sure you've noticed by now, FixYa likes to make periodic cosmetic changes to their system. I've been pointing out to them for the past three years that these changes often make it more difficult for us to answer questions, and are often accompanied by new bugs. By my count they've fixed three of the bugs I've reported, and two of them were actually "fixed" by removing those functions completely and thus making it even harder to answer questions.

Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of.(from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones)
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

Doesnt seem like many people use this website. it is well designed though. is there a place that shows how many users have visited in the past week or month?

Fixya for Android: Number of Visitors to this site weekly:

Hello. I think it depends on what people are looking to get answers for. Most people tend to ask one question and then not come back until they have time to do so.

I've been answering questions for about a month now.. I see a lot of new questions daily but I only look at one section of products people ask about..

Have dell inspiron 9300 laptop that will not load personal settings what should i do passed hardware diagnotics using F12

Are you the Administrator of the computer? You could have a infection of many types.
If your not the Administrator. Log in safe mode.
Restart or start the computer.
As soon as it starts to boot hit the F8 key - keep hitting the key till you see Safe mode options.
Start in Safe mode with networking
Now the log in screen should show a Administrator log in that you may not have seen before.
Log in to that Administrator. Shouldn't be Password protected.
Once inside you can change your account to administrator.
Click START< >Control panel> then look for User Accounts
Look at your User account and make sure or change it to Administrator control..

Hope this helps

Thank you for your visit to

I had been usuing e drive, for the past 1 week i

check incase it is for a hardisk or dvd/cd drive
incase this is the case scan for hardware changes in device manager
right click on my computer properties>hardware tab>device manager

incase the drive letter is replace or changed
change the drive letter
  1. Log on as Administrator or as a member of the Administrators group.
  2. Click Start, click Control Panel, and then click Performance and Maintenance.

Note If you do not see Performance and Maintenance, go to step 3. Performance and Maintenance appears in Control Panel only if you use Category view. If you use Classic view, Performance and Maintenance does not appear.
  3. Click Administrative Tools, double-click Computer Management, and then click Disk Management in the left pane.
  4. Right-click the drive, the partition, the logical drive, or the volume that you want to assign a drive letter to, and then click Change Drive Letter and Paths.
  5. Click Add.
  6. Click Assign the following drive letter if it is not already selected, and then either accept the default drive letter or click the drive letter that you want to use.
  7. Click OK.

My computer at work wont let me go to websites

You don't. The Administrator of the company computers has internet access set to block certain websites.
You can't access Administrator level settings, therefore you cannot change them.

Should you somehow change them, the IT department will catch it in no time.

Facebook connection problems Transport error (#1001)

I found a simple solution. Try and see if this works for you too.

1) Go to Privacy Settings.
2) Click Application button.
3) Click Settings tab.
4) Uncheck any of the boxes. (For me I unchecked everything except Profile picture, Basic info, and Online presence)
5) Save changes.

After doing that, all my applications started working for me again. Hope this helps.

Fiinding and reseeting administrator password in windows vista

If you don't remember the administrator password then login to the user account who has administrator acess. After logging into that users account you would be able to change the Administrator password. After logging into user account follow this steps to change password.

Click start--> go to Run--> Type "compmgmt.msc" without inverted codes--> select "local users and groups" there you select "users" in right hand side you can see "Administrator" select that option "right click" there you will get an option as "Set password" select that and change a new password.
