Sungale DVD2030-5.1 Player, problems playing movies.
Here recently, we got the movie Little Man from Blockbuster. For some reason everytime we put this movie in our DVD player it says "Error Data." We had to return this movie to Blockbuster 4 times already. The first time I thought it was the movie,I went and got another one in it's place. Unfortunately, the one I got done it,too. I have a friend who also has the same type of DVD Player and his done the same thing.
I have tried to unplug it and plug it back up,nothing. I tried to see if changing the setting would help it,it didn't. When I changed one setting,it did something weird after that. I changed it to PAL instead of NTSC and after that it went crazy for awhile. The screen went fuzz and lines were going up and down the screen and even unplugging it didn't help. I went to change it back and I don't know if it reset itself or it re-adjusted all by itself, but it cleared itself out and acted normal, but it didn't solve anything
What I was wondering is,why I am having problems like this?
Sometimes,if it gets too hot,it will say "Parental Control Off." Or something similar to that. There are times we have to turn it off and turn it back on,for it to work properly. What I am wondering the most though is why my DVD Player is saying Error Data. Can you please help me with this, I would really appreciate it. Thanks, blueangel
Re: Sungale DVD2030-5.1 Player, problems playing movies.
I have the same unit and was getting a "wrong disc" message and it would not play and disc I put in it. Emailed Sungale support and they said to unplug the unit for "a day or two" then plug it back in and it should work normally. I did that and it works fine now. Don't know if your problem could be related or how long you were leaving it unpluged but try the above and see if it helps.
They were very prompt with a reply to my email and you can contact them at firstname.lastname@example.org if the above doesn't help.

I have the same problem, though I don't recall which exact movies. They were all from Blockbuster. Sometimes they start to play and then halt at the end of track 1 and sometimes don't even make it tot he menu. The same movie will play on our portable dvd player. A Philips rep told me about 6 weeks ago it was a problem with a new security feature on some movies and to watch the website for a possible firmware upgrade to fix it. Now you can't even talk to someone at Philips so I don't know what to think. The "live chat" folks just want to tell you to take it to a repair shop - not much help there.
you need to plug your blue ray into the internet and download the latest software for your player. i had a problem with terminator salvation downloaded the new version for my player and athough it took 20 mins to download via a lan cable from my player to my wireless hub it now works fine wooohooo i just hope its not a **** film, its just started
Occasionally the software on most blu-ray players needs to be updated to the newest technology. The reason some discs play and some don't is because the discs that play are most-likely older movies or from a company that still used the "outdated" software. So the discs that don't play (most likely discs made with the updated software) won't play on your player until you've update the player's software. To do this visit, in your case, Sony's website for update info. There are a few ways you can get the info. You can download it directly to your player (if it has online accessibility) or you can request that they send you an update disc. Either way, most companies provide the update for free. Hope this helps, good luck!
Its not supposed to play Dix AVI movie files. For a DVD player to play anything other than a DVD movie the manufacturer must pay royalties to who ever owns the patent, for example they would have to pay Philips say $1 for every DVD player made that plays VCD's, that may not sound a lot but, make 100,000 dvd players and they would have to pay Philips $100,000. The technology has to be put into the device for it to work. Hope that helps.
I rented Rush Hour 3 from blockbuster along with Woodcock and both did not play on my Sylvania DVD player. I did take them and put them on my computer and their was a page that came up INTERACTUAL
This DVD is enhanced with interactive features designed exclusively for use on a computer.
PLAY DVD with enhanced features (that prompted a download)
or PLAY DVD without enhanced features and you can play the DVD movie on your small home computer screen.
I believe that the DVD producers have added the ENHANCED FEATURES to be used on a computer and in so doing they do not work at least not on the Sylvania DVD players.
Your DVD player is having a problem reading the disc. This is what is accounting for the pausing and the slow loading times...especially if it plays other movies without hitches. Even if the DVD is cleaned, some scratching on the disc will prevent it from being viewed properly. Blockbuster shoudl give you another disc to try of the same movie if you ask. Also, you can try getting a cleaner for your DVD player to remove dust and help it read discs better.
The clicking sound is the lens assy trying to move on the traverse mechanisim and the release spring is ticking. You might want to crack her open and look for any foreign objects in the laser area. You can also try to move the lens assy by hang gently sometimes they get stuck for no reason.

my brother the only way you can override that lock is that the microchip in the set has to be lift out of the set,by doing that the chip will reset itself then the chip can be resolder back contact a tech to do it for you.goodluck.
