Question about GE Spacemaker JVM1640SJ Microwave Oven
It is a ge spacesaver microwave model# jvm1650sb004. serial# rf 902580 B. It is only 5 years old. What can it be? Do they have a heating element and is it hard to get to? where would it be?
I have an over the oven microwave that blew a magnetron after 4 years. Could be the same thing. It was out of warranty for the free labor, so I took it apart (I'm kind of a geek) and found out the magnetron was gone. Shortening the story: I bought a new magnetron from an online place and replaced it and it works fine. If you have someone replace your magnetron, see if you can get it for free-they have a long warranty on the magnetron ($150 part) and at 5 years, you probably qualify. Rich
