Re: my front load kenmore washer door gasket is garbelled
Something probably got caught in the seal and pulled it out of place. If u run washer so that it fills up and starts tumbling,,, and there is no water leak,, there is a good chance u can repair this yourself. So if there is no water leaking,,, you can try and take out the bottom front panel and twisting, or shoving it back into place. If there is water leaking,,, than chances are its ripped or broken, and will need to be completely replaced

On some Kenmore front load models, if the black gasket around the door opening is unseated (for example, because you drag some heavy wet laundry over it) the door will not engage the lock and stay closed. This is a feature to prevent the washer from leaking when the gasket is not sealed. To fix it, simply reseat the gasket and the door will close and lock.
this kind of door lock is called PTC door lock.It is designed for protecing you from opening the dooe during the washing and spining cycles which may hurt you.So, if you want to open the dooe during cycles, pls press "stop",then ,wait 2 mins, you will be able to open it by then.the other situation is that, the power is cut off during working cycles, solution is:re-start the washer and directly open the door.Pls note that this kind of lock has to work under power.
This advice is for Kenmore Elite and Whirlpool Duet model front loading washers. If you experience a problem where the door becomes jammed and will not unlock or open, here's an easy way to gain access inside your washer WITHOUT calling the repairman.
1. Remove the lower panel under the door by loosening the three screws under the bottom edge on the front of the washer. HINT: If you prop up the front feet of the washer with some small blocks of wood, this will make access to the screws much easier. 2. With the screws removed, the lower panel should drop down then come off. If the panel sticks, a light tap on either side will knock it loose. 3. Reach your hand up inside the washer behind the front casing on the right-hand side. This is where the door latch assembly is located. 4. At the bottom of the door latch assembly is a small pull tab. This is the manual release for the door. Pull the tab straight down and the door will come open.
Sometimes these doors will not unlock for whatever reason. If there are no error codes being generated, this could have just been a momentary glitch. If you see "Fdl" "DLE" or "Fdu" error codes, these are usually indications of a failed door latch assembly and will require replacement.

this is joyce
What I would do in this situation is fix the door lock first before I would do another load of clothes. you can go to Kenmore.com put in your model # and download your manual to your machine if you want to fix yourself
or you can call service tech out. I will help you find one in your area if you need.
Unless your front loader is set firmly on concrete
and leveled to perfection, the force of a heavy wash load spinning in
excess of 1000rpm will create a bit of vibration and noise.A firm footing is your best defense against to much movement. Also due to the earlier movements during the spin cycle, the shocks that are used to dampen the spin cycle might have been broken or damaged. If the problem persists inspite of proper levelling, please do check for the shocks or might have them replaced them for good.
normal problem all front loads all brands.. leave door open as much as possible.. to clean fill tub with hot water pour in 2 cups chlorine bleach use rag in solution wipe gasket out as good as possible allow washer to run normal cycle ..do as routine when ever odor is first noticed leaving door open will allow most of water to evaporate
