I can help you if you can get me all of the numbers off of your unit. (model, serial, etc...) I am sure I could get you a diagram or walk you through it.

SOURCE: Cuisinart DL 11: Cracked plastic drive shaft

If it is in warranty, it can be sent to Cuisinart for repair. If it is out-of-warranty, it will cost more than a new food processor to repair.

SOURCE: Replacing shaft on tiger saw

If the spindle is broken you have to take the front of the saw apart, but check for excessive wear in the other parts before buying just the one. Its not that hard just pay attention when you disassemble

SOURCE: Need to replace drive pin

Hi. The pin in question is a tapered pin and can only be tapped out one way. This pin fixes the main driving shaft to the planetary. Use a metal punch slightly smaller in size to the pin and gently tap out the remaining part of the pin toward the largest part of the pin. Once removed, you can install the new pin in the reverse manner. If this solution assisted you, please rate it. Good luck! ricardok45.

SOURCE: broken shift shaft

  • Obviously a Kawasaki dealer can replace the broken shaft. I assume you want to replace it yourself. I do not recommend you replace it yourself but if you feel able then > > >
  • Drain the gearbox and pull the engine from the bike. Remove the left case cover.
  • Remove the right side case cover. Remove the clutch.
  • Disengage the shift shaft pawl from the shift drum pins and pin retainer. See if the bad shift shaft will slide out from the center casings. I say " IF " because the shaft may be bent and may not slide freely through the casings. DO NOT try to hammer the shaft through the casings. You will scar the bore at the least and crack or break the casing at the worst.
  • If the shaft will not slide out freely, then you will need to cut the shaft in half from the clutch side and remove it from the flywheel side. A Dremel tool will cut the shaft.
  • Now install the new shift shaft and check to be sure the gears all shift smoothly up an down, ( rotate the clutch shaft while shifting ). A bent shift fork is a PROBABILITY anytime a shift shaft is damaged as yours was.
  • If you can run through the gears okay then re-assemble the engine. Add fresh oil to the gearbox and go for a test ride down the street. If the bike does not shift smoothly then you missed a bent shift fork in the prior step and will need to tear the engine down, split the certer case and then replace the bent fork.
  • Please rate this solution as a " FixYa ". Thanks!

While mowing the drive belt tightner spring broke. I bought a replacement but the blades will not engage. The drive belt has been routed properly. it seems as though the blade's drive shaft will not spin.

Check and see if the shear pin has broken. If the pulleys spin but not the blades then the shear pin in the pulley or shaft has broken.

How do I replace the upper drive shaft on a Ryobi RBC430SEC brushcutter?

I couldn't find this model on google, but when replacing drive shafts in most brushcutters we used to slide the cutting head / gear assembly off the bottom of the shaft, remove the circlip holding the drive shaft if there was one, slide out the shaft from its square hole in the clutch at the motor end. If the shaft was broken we'd slide the motor part off the shaft to get the broken part of the shaft out.

Oil pump shaft broke off. How can a person remove broken tip up inside motor?

The oil pump shaft is driven by the distributor. If a broken piece of the oil pump shaft is still lodged in the distributor drive socket you may have to remove the distributor to remove the broken piece. Normally there is no retainer keeping the shaft inserted into the distributor drive socket. So when the oil pump is removed the shaft will typically slide, or fall out.

The head stops going round, it sems to me that the drive shaft has become disconnected, can it be repaired by myself.

You need to take the drive shaft tube off the power head and see if it is broken. If the machine has the split boom, then you will need to inspect both. Just turn the end of the drive on one end, and see if the other end turns with it. If it is a one piece drive shaft, then, remove the boom from the front engine cover and turn it, noting if the string head turns too. You can fix this yourself.

it is safe to drive the vehicle with front drive shaft only. if there is a mount that is broken, REPLACE IT! there is a danger if that is broken. if the tech already has everything, might as well get it done and enjoy your vehicle. cheers.

Engine runs great, no power at head, drive shafts not broken.

The drive shaft is not seated into position properly or the shaft has broken.

Have you had the shaft off recently? If so, take the shaft off again and try to seat the shaft as you gently pull on the rope. If you need further assistance, just let me know.

Broken gear on BFP-703 base

The drive is replacable and available from Cuisinart, you will have to sign a waver to get the part. the drive is screwed onto the motor shaft with reverse threads. the plastic drive will have to be completely broken off of the unit to expose a brass"nut" which was internal to the drive. depending upon your model you may have to remove the lower half of the base unit to access the lower part of the motor shaft. there will be a slot in the end of the shaft for a large flat blade screwdriver. this is used to hold the shaft still while turning the drive "nut" with a vice grip pliar or similar. the new drive is just threaded onto the shaft and normal operation tightens it.
