SOURCE: Craftsman Garage Door Opener Won't Open

When mine did this, it was because the nylon gears that drive the chain had stripped. My wife had to live without the opener for a week or more, but I was able to find a new gear kit online and replace the damaged gears. It wasn't difficult.
The other option is to buy a new opener.

SOURCE: Garage door opener motor doesn't work.

2 flashes is a safety eye issue, but you problen is most likely that the chain is not sync with the limit setting. Take the bottom off the gear and sprocket assemble and rotate center limit srew until it is in the same position as the trolley.

SOURCE: overhead light stays on all the time on craftsman

Hello. If the light stays on all the time check these:
A. The light time delay on the opener will keep the light on for approximately 4-1/2 minutes after the system has be activated, then will turn the light off automatically.

B. If the opener has a worklight switch (which is supplied only with a four-function wall console), slide the switch to "OFF" position.

C. If the opener has a pedestrian switch (which is supplied only with a four-function wall console), the light will stay on for 4-1/2 minutes after the pedestrian door has been opened.

I have an overhead garage door Legacy 496cb/d that stopped 3/4 of the way in the down motion. It now will not open or close and only clicks. The lights work and power is on.

If this picture at the link shown looks like yours, the red and white cord with the red plastic piece needs to be pulled to disconnect the automatic door opening chain.

Then, pushing the garage door fully open should move the mechanism back to connect in the ceiling. Then the remote control may work. If not, seek a repair service.

Why does the overhead light on my garage door opener go off & on without any reason, day or night, even when door is not in use?

There's a gremlin living in your overhead light.....lol. The circuit board in the opener has the timer for the light. There's a component that's beginning to fail on it. Replace the circuit board.

The drive chain of my lift master doe not turn when I try opening my garage door even the garage door is disconnected

Sounds like the gear inside the garage door opener needs to be replaced.
If you take the cover off you should see a lot of white powder inside the bottom of the garage door opener case.
You will also see a large plastic white gear that it shredded.

Garage door opener (chain) motor runs in reverse. Trolley slides forward trying to close door, even though it is closed, instead of sliding toward motor to open door. Happened out of the blue - was

Loosen the chain enough that you can remove it from the sprocket. Run the opener until the sprocket turns counterclockwise and stops. With the door in the open position replace the chain. You will probably need to adjust your open and close limits per your owners manual.

Motor works but does not move chain on half horse sears

Clutch? need more info.. wall mount or overhead? If it's wall mounted it could be the clutch, I don't think overheads have a clutch though. The first thing I'd do is get on a ladder and see if the chain is still attached to the sprocket... good luck

Wayne dalton garage door is humming but wont open

Likely the plastic gears are worn out. Unplug the unit from power source, remove the cover, look at the gears. If worn, it will be obvious from the shavings from the gears. You can buy the gear kit on EBAY for a little as $20 depending on the manufacturer and model. Before removing the chain drive, lock a pair of vice grips on the chain and metal chain rail to keep the chain from turning from its current position. The gears can be replaced without removing the opener. Even if you have to remove the opener, it is a simple task. Most have four bolts that need to be removed and it will be in you hands.
