SOURCE: Frigidaire electric range smooth top with no oven function

although you dont have hte model number , that is indeed a correct and valid part number for the control lists for a about $120. since your back there give a quick look at the wiring into the unit, is that ok ??? adn where the burnout is on the control does it appear to have shorted out against the back wall??? perhaps a relay on the board just blew??? i really wouldn't thinkn tha another component was goning to make that go bad, also ck the bake and broil elements for continuity, perhapa wire fell off the element blowing out the control

The fan the circulates the warm exhaust air out the front of the unit is making a lot of noise.

and this is really a Frigidaire stove? Or is it a fridge?

Stove, check the circulation fan, which is usually at the back surrounded by the element. You can check if the fan has slipped on the spindle, but they often need replacing as they work in such a hostile atmosphere.

Fridge. you can check the fan which is at the rear at the bottom. Again, the fan may have moved, but the problem there is often the fibre board shield around the fan. If it is the compressor itself, it is beyond economical repair, you need a new fridge.

With both fans, they are made of aluminium and a blade can snap off. That makes them run out of balance and are noisy.

"D" normally means diode. I happened to come across your post while searching for the same component, and I can confirm that there is in fact a diode there.

I would have a professional check the control board to the elements. You could have a decent element, but a bad connection.

Frigidaire Model fgfl79gsa EOC won't lite up

If it has 120 volts to the EOC, with a good line and nuetral, and it won't show the clock or turn the oven on it has to be replaced. Frigidaire doesn't offer repair parts for the EOC.

Dual element burner on glasstop range...inner element stays on

It is the burner control (behind the knob). The triac in the control has failed. $50 item, 10 minute change. Just make note which wire goes to which terminal.

I doubt that it is the control board, as the board has little to do with the stove top, but rather controls the display and the oven temperature/feedback monitoring.

Hope this helps.

Slow heating and control panel clicking

I have a similar problem with my Frigidaire FAM156R1A Air conditioner. The unit is stuck on a temp setting and occasionally makes a beeping sound. Repair tech came out and told me the control panel was broken and that this is a common problem. I wrote more detail here: http://www.epinions.com/content_404700761732
