Question about eMachines Emachine T2245 Power Supply Replacement 300W

Emachine Wiring Diagram

I opened the case (for cleaning) and didnt realize that while cleaning a connector came loose. I have no idea where this connector should be plugged in. The connector type is P6 white in color with red, 2-black and yellow wires running to it. The connected end is attached to a squarish black flat part (of which there are 2 of them, one of them is marked "slave" on a 2" flat gray wire looking thing) both of those black squarish things has those same black, red & yellow wires coming from them. Hope you can tell me where this white P6 connector should go, as i can't find any visible 4-pins anywhere.

What a Marvelous person!

You have described a 4-pin Peripheral power cable, ('P6'),

http://www.playtool.com/pages/psuconnectors/connectors.html#peripheral

An IDE harddrive, of which the 4-pin Peripheral power cable example, is plugged into.
Another look at an IDE (PATA) harddrive,

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136096

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parallel_ATA

However, I do not know if the flat IDE ribbon cable marked Slave, goes to a secondary Harddrive, or an optical drive. (CD/DVD drive)

Either way the point is moot. BOTH of those 'squarish flat black' units, HAVE a 4-pin Peripheral power cable to them.
Another hardware component, those type of power wires CAN go to, is a computer case fan.

However not ALL power cables have to be used. Sometimes there are extra ones. These are in case they are need later.

To summarize;
The optical drive, or drives; that you put a CD, or DVD disk in; can use a 4-pin Peripheral power cable.
(IDE/PATA optical drive)

Harddrive's can use a 4-pin Peripheral power cable.
(IDE/PATA harddrive)

A computer case fan may use a 4-pin Peripheral power cable.

Or the 4-pin Peripheral power cable you see, may simply be an extra one. One if needed in the future.

The eMachines T2245 uses a Trigem (Manufacturer), Imperial GLVE (Model name), motherboard,

Supports an IDE (PATA) harddrive, (Or 2 of them)
Supports an IDE (PATA) optical drive, (or two of them)

I DO hope you are following Anti-Static Procedures!

Your body carries Static electricity. Static WILL fry out (Short Circuit), the delicate hardware components inside a computer.
Relieve your body of Static, BEFORE reaching inside your computer.

Computer on a table, computer Unplugged from power, computer case open;
TOUCH an unpainted surface, of the metal frame of the open, empty computer case.
This action will relieve your body of Static.

IF, you leave your computer in the middle of working on it, be SURE to Touch the metal frame again upon your return.

If you go to autozones website and make a free account, you can logon to that account and put in the year, make and model of your car and look for the free repair diagrams. They have the wiring diagrams. Then change the make and model year to the donor car and look for those diagrams.

Loose wires inside my t2958 emachine , need a schematic website

Most of the extra wire are for expansion purposes and since most computers have different accessories,a wiring schematic may not help at all.
If you are just talking about the wire from the power supply box,I can help.

Need2 know wiring diagram 4 power supply 4 a emachine T2642

Hi there
The power supply should be ATX 20pin connection and also a 4pin connector, look at this picture below so you know you have the power connections in the right places>>ba37bd3.jpg
On the top left of the picture, the big cream 20pin socket is where the 20 pin connector goes.
In the middle to the left you will see another cream 4pin socket is where the 4pin connector goes.
If your power supply does not have the 4pin connector the pc won't boot up, you will have to go out and buy one.
If you have all the connections right and the on/off button is connected to the front panel properly, take out the system memory, clean it with a clean, dry, soft pain brush and also clean the slots too, re-seat the memory and reboot the machine to see if it boots up.

Good luck and thanks for using Fixya!!!

Need wiring diagram for emachines t2200 motherboard

If you are replacing the power supply and it has 4 pin 12v conector and your motherboard doesn't, just disregard the 4 pin plug. The 20 pin conector will supply sufficient power for the processor. Many of the older motherboards did not have a separate 12v supply for the processor.
