hi sir you will need to apply trouble shooting for this problem. now first look for the power supply check bulging capacitors to its casing which cause the voltage drop usually the cause is over heat. you can find parts replacement at www.digikey.com . replaced capacitors with same value at least 105c rating and panasonic FM or FC series much better. another thing that can cause of on/off problem with your unit is failure in inverter ballast and back light, check shorted component parts at inverter board like the mosfet. now how are you going to know if their is problem with inverter board disconnect the connector going to the inverter board then try to turn on the unit for at least 10 minutes then if you noticed that the stand by indicator remain on not turn off the problem is with in the inverter board. if you can check all the voltages at the power supply much better check if all the out put voltage are present.hope this may help just give response if it works good luck.

I ended up buying the parts from Electrolux - cost $384 plus tax. The repair is relatively easy and you can do it yourself. My problem was locating the main power board - who would have thought it would be behind the front kick plate attached to the bottom of the refrigerator.

I have a very similar issue with my GE in wall oven, circa 1999. I learned it was due to one of two issues.
1. The touch panel keypad is shorting out somewhere along the ribbon wire circuit. Replacement likely needed.
2. The microcontroller brain of the oven is faulty. Replacement likely needed.
My issue was the keypad. I personally went to RadioShack and prototyped a new circuit board to reverse engineer the keypad. The flimsy keypad replacement was $244.00 for a new one, however they no longer make the keypad. For less than $20 and a little solder I have a fully functioning replacement.

Tips for a great answer:
I appreciate your post, Carol!
Based off the information you have provided your Frigidaire refrigerator is displaying an error code of "SY CE" and the lights are not working. A "SY CE" error code stands for a communication error at start up. This might be a miscommunication within your refrigerator and I would recommend performing a reset in order to correct the issue. To reset your refrigerator you need to disconnect power from it for roughly ten minutes. If this does not help correct your issue you may need to change your control panel or a wiring harness. In order to properly diagnosis your refrigerator you may need to disassemble it and I would suggest having a professional technician out to do so. This will help you avoid any unnecessary part purchases or personal injury. -Matt

Hi John Dirksen- Could the error code possibly be SY CE? If so, it typically means that the unit has detected a communication error at power up. A professional will need to check the wiring between the main control board and user interface. Depending on the diagnoses from the professional either part may need replacing.
