Question about Sewing Machines

1 Answer

Timing off I just replaced a worm gear on my wife sewing machine stylist 534,Now the timing is off. I tried to mark the gear locations on the various shafts that I worked on. Now the needle won't pick up the bobbin thread. Is there a manual to show how to retime this machine. AB

If the worm gear is located on the bottom of machine that has link connected to the bobbins and shuttle case. Before you engage the two gear the worm gear and the helical gear besure to adjust the position of the needle holder at the lowest dead center position and the bobbins and shuttles case was hooked up properly with the needle no thread inside also unplug the ac source before doing this.Assuming all at zero time order, you can freeely move the shuttle case with the bobbins at the center of the needle because there are no link connection when you disengage
the two gear. After setting up all at rest gradually engage the two gear and tight the allen screw no motion at all linkage when doing this otherwise changes of set up will occurs you can't get the perfect time order. If all are set, manually by hand rotate handwheel gradually if there obtruction on motion of all parts, they should be freely move on the right rotation.if OK put thread on bobbins winder set to bobbins and upper threat top spool.Set the proper tension on both lower and upper thread acquired to fabric, try too hook up the lower tension manually, If ok sew cotton fabric as trial manually only no power supply yet
until you acquired normal sewing If no problem persist.Apply power source and continue trial If problem on timing again judt repeat sequence assure the perfect alignment and setting on lower dead center.

Singer stylist sewing machine 534 is not stitching

Its quite possible that the stitch length knob is set on 0 or that you have the feeddogs set on darning which drops them below the plate (if it has this feature). Otherwise the feedogs are gummed up and everything needs a good cleaning and oiling.
Hope this helps.
