Recovery mode with out using the power button

An iPod Touch's "Recovery Mode" is for alleviating major operating system issues.
Recovery Mode rolls back your iPod's operating system, stripping problematic updates and downloads from the unit.
The goal of this total system recovery is to revert the iPod to a stable, usable version.
Before you use Recovery Mode, exhaust other troubleshooting methods.
In some cases, Recovery Mode is triggered automatically after a failed system update or system restore.
When it goes into Recovery Mode automatically, you cannot use your iPod until you complete the recovery process.
You can get your iPod Touch out of Recovery Mode using Apple's free iTunes software.

Turn on your computer and open iTunes.
If you are prompted to download any new iTunes updates, install the updates before proceeding.
Plug an iPod USB cable into your computer.
Do not plug the other end into your iPod Touch yet.

Turn off your iPod Touch. If the iPod Touch is already shut down, skip this step.
Press and hold the Home button on your iPod Touch, and plug the other end of the USB cable into your iPod Touch.
Release the Home button after you see a white USB icon and the iTunes logo appear on your iPod Touch's screen.
At this time, a pop-up should appear on your computer screen, explaining that the software has detected an iPod in Recovery Mode.
Click "OK."
Click on the iPod Touch from underneath the "Devices" heading on the left-hand side of your screen.
Click on the "Home" tab, and then click "Restore."
Once it's restored, your iPod Touch goes out of Recovery Mode and you can start using it again.
The restoration process takes a few minutes.
Do not disconnect your iPod Touch until a prompt appears, letting you know the system restored successfully.

Itouch displays "disable connect to iTunes" how can I restore it?

Restart iPod touch

To restart iPod touch, first turn iPod touch off by pressing and holding the Sleep/Wake button until a red slider appears. Slide your finger across the slider and iPod touch will turn off after a few moments.

Next, turn iPod touch on by pressing and holding the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.

Is iPod touch not responding? To reset iPod touch, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least 10 seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

If your device does not turn on or displays a red battery icon, try recharging next.

My sons ipod touch's screen has gone white and won't reset. Turns on and off and can be connected to computer but the screen remains white

Have you tried this?

Hold the home and lock buttons for about 10 seconds until the Apple icon appears on the screen. This is called a "Hard Reset."

If that doesn't work, try this next step, but be aware that you will be required to restore the iPod, meaning deleting all songs, videos, or any other data on the iPod, make sure the items are backed up before hand.

Hold the home button (on the front) while plugging it in to the computer, continue to hold the button until it becomes responsive.

iTunes should say it has been recognized in restore mode, and you can restore by clicking "Restore" from within the iPod touch via iTunes.

The best of luck to you, hope these could help!

My ipod screen just stays White. My daughter can play Music on the chargeable station. But i turned it off and on and it goes to Clear White Screen everytime.

Try to reset the ipod:

- iPod Classic: Press Menu & Center button at the same time for at least ten seconds
- iPod Touch: Press Center button & top button at the same time for at least ten seconds

Apple logo will appear, and the iPod will be reset (you won't loose your music)

My ipod cant turn on

Is the 'Hold' switch on top in the locked position?
If so, slide it to the unlocked position and try again.
If this doesn't fix it, then try the following:

Press and hold the Menu and Center (Select) buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears, about 6 to 8 seconds.
