This is technical unit an they can be pretty touchy with power outages sometimes. It may be in a display mode. If you havent already try unplugging the unit for a minute or two and plug it back in. This doesnt reset its programming try holding Energy Saver Key + Lighting Key for 8 seconds and let the unit run thru a self diagnstic test and hopefully it will reset. If neither works its going to have the main board replaced.

SOURCE: Samsung RFG 297 has ice build up under the Cool

• Check if the set temperature on the digital display is too low.
• Try setting the refrigerator to a warmer temperature.
• Is the temperature in the room too low? Set the refrigerator warmer.
• Did you store the food which is juicy in the coldest part of the refrigerator? Try moving those items
to the other shelves in the fridge instead of keeping them in the colder areas or bins.
• Is the air vent blocked? Remove any obstructions so air can circulate freely.
• Allow sufficient space between the stored foods for efficient air circulation.
• Is the freezer drawer closed properly?

There is a ton of information regarding your fridge at the link below, including asking Samsung support questions and getting responses and assistance from their techs:

Samsung RSG257AABP stopped making ice. What to check before buying a new ice maker?

Broken wires at the ice maker or the temperature sensor falling out can cause that problem. Check your digital temperature readout at the top of the refrigerator with the doors open. If it reads 88 88 and has a flashing digit, check the ice maker temperature sensor for a cut or broken wire. The temperature sensor and rubbery gadget holding it in place often fall out of place when the drooping wires snag on the ice scoop or whatever. The sensor assembly is held in place by a wimpy plastic clip that breaks easily. Sometimes the wires get cut or broken when this happens.

After fixing this problem several times, I finally made a metal bracket from aluminum angle, drilled and tapped 4-40 holes in it, and drilled the plastic icemaker to mount it more permanently. I added a wire tie to hold the temperature sensor wire up and away from possible snag sources. The sensor wire and wire tie are not shown in the photo below, but if you have the tools to solder the wires and fabricate a bracket it helps a lot. It is easy to get the ice maker out, once you discover how to remove the drawer from the slides (two plastic clips at the rear of the slides).
Pull the front cover off, take out the two screws, and unplug the wire connector and it drops right out.

Bracket installed. The sensor is not shown in this photo, but the wire comes out the right side and crosses in front of the metal bracket. The wire tie holds it to the bracket near the top center (hole not shown).

I have a whirlpool model ED25PWXBN00 refrig and the ice maker is making ice but the part that holds and dispenses the ice has broken and no longer dispenses ice. what part do i need?

That depends if the ice maker continues to fill with water or just sits there with the ice slots empty. Sometimes it is the dual water control valve=> 4318046 Water Control Valve
and sometimes the ice maker itself. Does not hurt to have an extra part of each if you are a ice user like myself. If ice slots are empty fill with tap water and allow to freeze. If the ice drops and slots do not refill with water then replace the dual water control valve. 4317943 Ice Maker Assembly.

Hello, we are sorry to hear that you are experiencing this problem. We would suggest checking the ice chute to make sure that there is no ice lodged in the way of the flap. If the issue persist we would suggest having a certified technician out to look at the Refrigerator. If you would like further assistance you can send your name, phone number, address, model/serial of the appliance and the date on which you purchased the Refrigerator to Whirlpool_Reviews@Whirlpool.com. Thank you.

Kennmore refrigerator is not making ice,but water

The control light flashes to indicate the infrared beam is being blocked. The flap on the opposite side blocks the beam when the door is open to prevent ice from being dropped on the floor rather than in the ice bin. If you pushe the flap in so it's flush with the liner (use care not to block the hole) the light should go from flashing to on in a steady state. If not, your electronics are bad and would need to be replaced. If the light does glow steady, then the problem is with your ice maker, water valve or ice maker fill tube.

My GE profile refrigerator's ice maker is frosting over at the exit point for the ice leaving the ice bin. I have cleaned it repeatedly and have no clue as to the cause.

The flap door that opens to let ice drop out of the door has a bad seal or the plastic mounting arm is cracked or broken, this is allowing moisture to enter and turn to frost. This will continue to happen until the flap door is repaired, and sealing correctly.

Ice Maker frost and freeze where ice drops into refrigerator door

You need a service guy to look at it. It could be water leaking or a simple case that the flap isnt sealing and the ice melts and then freezes the flap open
