Did you check with the manufacturer on their web site? If not available it is because the set was a special model for a large store - they change the model numbers on those sets so they cannot be shopped. You need to find the equivalent JVC model which asise from a different model number is identical.
They do NOT make special models for these big retailers - just give them a special number.
I contacted JVC professional to find out the model number for my JVC GM-V42E. Once you have the model number, contact JVC and order a new one or google the product number and try using websites that are dedicated to providing remote controls, I was able to get one from avukltd.com a little cheaper and more quickly than JVC said they would have the product in stock.
I also found the remote control product number on the bottom of the plasma screen.
JVC MR140 Miracle Remote
Part Number: MR140 | SKU: 15330258 You can purchase this at partstore.com This will work with any JVC TV, but not with combos or other products. Also I found a user's manual at retrevo.com. I hope this helps you out.
You will need to know the model number of your JVC TV. usually located on the back of the TV on a sticker. try going to the JVC customer support website and search for the model number and bringing up the manual.
Nothing can fully substitute for the original remote. However, I'm not too clear on why you're not able to do an auto-programming.
If you would like to replace the original remote and don't want to spend $50 or more dollars, consider this alternative: http://www.miracleremote.com/
We have just about all of these in the shop and they really do access ALL the functions of the original.
