When turning on my hp laptop it just give me white screen

Will it boot from a CD/DVD? Make sure the boot sequence is set to boot CD first and then see if it will boot into setup from a CD/DVD. If it will, then maybe try reinstalling windows. Hope this helps.

I had the same problem faced twice in one month, and it’s a new laptop just one month old,
I have removed battery for for few minutes and fixed it back. And it's working fine now.
If it continues what should I do?

Pl switch the machine off and put 2-3 pounds of pressure with your palm on the keyboard closer to the spacebar.. this will fix it..
it is caused by the weakening of the adhesive of the wires below the keyboard.
Long term option - get the keyboard opened by the an professional and cleaned properly..and fixed back neatly...

I have seen this problem on many (close to 10) dv6000 series laptops. In every case I have seen the problem is with the onboard nvidia graphics cards, and they are hard-wired into the board. External monitors won't work because the adapter also controls the external display.
Although I have heard of re-soldering (reballing) these chips I don't believe that (given their failure rate) they are worth putting much effort into. For the same reason I would recommend against trying to replace the mainboard. I would suggest putting your money instead towards a new laptop. I would guess that all your data, pics, etc. are intact, and a recovery program should easily be able to locate and recover your files.
