Question about Bissell 8910 ProHeat Clear View Upright Vacuum

I have a bissell proheat 8910 steamer and my red float fell out of the tank-in-tank. i need to know where it goes please. thanks!

The rounded part of the red float goes inside the bottom part of the tank in tank. If you push the bladder down with your hand you can see grooves on the inside of the bottom tank intnak. This is where the rounded part goes. the longer more straight part of the red thing sits straight across on top of the bottom unit on the straight edge. I honestly cannot remember how exactly I got into place but I finagled it in I am sure...

Bissell proheat model 8910 water will not come


  • check pump belt
  • seat tank properly
  • check tank filter
i have repaired many of these and found that 90% of the time its the pump! #41 on diagram < click

9% its the heater clogged up #65 on diagram < click

1st check the small problems i wrote above

if all else seems fine start by removing the heater and disconnect the hoses from it. blow through one end of the heater (should be no restriction)
