The other suggestion is overtly wrong - you have a fatal error that needs to fixed by xbox repair center in McAllen,TX. This should now be covered by the new 3 year extended warranty. This problem is one of two major flaws with the xbox 360. The first is the heat problem which is the underlying cause of the three rings of death(now covered). the next is your problem which is a hardware failure of the disc drive. Rumor is that xbox live update actually crashed alot of drives by mistake trying to ban modders from xbox live via the update. So either cheap drives to begin with or funky firmware, your guess is as good as mine. Call xbox support - get the ball rolling cause it takes about a month for them to ship you a refurbished xbox with all the same problems - alot of horror stories out there about people getting 3 or 4 xbox 360 deaths......

Your system is fine, the disk is a different story. By moving your Xbox 360 the drive does some funky things. The disk probably has some deep grooves around the egde. In future, dont move the 360 or backup your xbox 360 games with http://www.everything4360.com

okay we had the same problem...
we always laid it on its side and one day we switched rooms it was in and we could stand it and we did... then the screen was hard to read so we switched back to the other room laying it down agian and then it stopped reading the disks... but all we had to do was find a way to sit it up leave it off for 2 days so it could cool down got it near a vent so it stays cooler and now it works... occasionally we have to restart the system when it doesnt work but only once or twice never more... i hope that can work for you guys too...

Ok here it is The first time it did it to me it took almost 10 to 12 times of turning off and takin out to finally get it to read it. Now somtimes it only takes like 2 maybe 10 last 3 times i played it took 2 times. Ok sounds are loud reading and I think i can hear laser :(.

Same here disc's are find but still report disc as unplayable.

Okay so here is the thing with mine. I bought Timeshift and put it in my X-box 360 and it said unplayable disc. So i took the disk back because i have no problems with any of my other games. I put the new timeshift into my console and it still didn't work. Then i put it in my brothers 360 and it works. so its not the disc. i have no idea what the problem is
