Dont know what you mean by coupling!!, usually the agitator comes loose on these machines inside the drum, to secure this, remove the softener cap in the centre of the drum by pulling, look inside and secure the bolt deep inside, you will need a socket and long extension 15mm I think.

How to remove dash to replace gauge

Depends on the car. Some of the bezels just pop off. Some have a couple of screws near the gauges to remove, some you have to remove the knee bolster because there could be a couple screws there also. If the bezel wraps around the radio and A/C, there could be a couple of screws under them to remove. Once screws are removed the bezel pops off. Held on with clips.

How do you Replace starter drive on 1984 harley fxr

Sorry 1984 is back beyond my expertise and/or knowledge but later model years jackshaft might be somewhat similar:

Disconnect the negative battery cable. THEN remove the primary cover. (If you are only going to service the items from the bolt through to the spring it is not necessary to remove clutch but if it is desired to replace the coupling and/or the retaining ring it will also require starter removal. So, bearing that in mind, if necessary, next remove the clutch assembly. THEN while holding the pinion gear in place remove the jackshaft bolt, the lockplate and the thrust washer and remove the jackshaft from the inner primary as an assembly. THEN remove the pinion gear from the jackshaft and then remove the coupling and the spring. The spring and the retaining ring are inside the coupling. Replace the retaining ring if deemed necessary. ALSO if the coupling is forced through the primary case oil seal you will necessarily have to replace the seal as it will be ruined. THEN remove the coupling from the starter shaft and if needed replace the retaining ring. The jackshaft must be installed back onto the starter shaft prior to installing the jackshaft with the shallow side of the coupling going/facing towards the jackshaft and also facingthe jackshaft splines. Remember to reinstall the coupling retaining ring if it was removed. ALSO, be sure to install the coupling on the starter output shaft with the counter bore facing the jackshaft. THEN put the spring inside the coupling and install the pinion gear on the shaft put the lockplate and the thrust washer on the bolt and put the bolt in place in the jackshaft. If you removed the retaining ring put it back on shaft and then slide the jackshaft assembly back into position in the inner primary. In order to hold the lockplate and thrust washer in place be certain that the lockplate tab is properly in the keyway. THEN, having aligned the lockplate tab and thrust washer properly in the slot with the jackshaft keyway screw the jackshaft bolt into the starter shaft and while holding the pinion gear in position tighten the bolt to 84-108 in-lbs (9.5-12.2 Nm) and bend the locking tab against bolt head. THEN reinstall the clutch assembly etc. and the primary case etc using new gaskets as required etc., refill the primary with oil, reconnect the negative battery cable and check to be sure you have not forgotten anything.

Flip control panel up, take off cabinet, remove pump off motor, remove motor, and your coupling is on the motor and gear case .

No spin cycle,on any setting. seem like it wants to spin but can't

you have a bad motor coupling,they brake all the time,remove the two screws holding down the top console,lift it up,with a screw driver remove the two metal clips and remove the lid switch harness,it's a white plastic piece in the middle between the two metal clips,now remove the frame of the washer,down the bottom you'll see the pump,with a screw driver remove the two metal clips and remove the pump,now remove the two screws and two more metal clips and remove the motor,on the back of the motor you'll see the motor coupling,it should have three plastic arms on it but they probably are broke,also on the tranny the other half of the coupling is there remove that,the part number is 285753A and it's around 19 bucks, tap on the new coupling one part on the motor shaft,the other on the tranny shaft and slide the black rubber piece on the tranny part of coupling and slide the motor onto the other half so they lock together and this is what spins the tub.if you need help with anything else let me know,also if you can let me know how you make out with your washer,good luck. the coupling brakes all the time from overloading the washer<!-- from fixya rte -->

The pulley is held on by a compression type of coupling. Loosen all the screws in the coupling. Remove two screws and they should thread into two or more threaded holes in the coupling. These are holes that should be 180 degrees apart....they will be the only holes threaded. If all the other bolts in the circumference are loose you should be able to thread these two bolts into the coupling and the bolts actually "jack" the coupling apart. The coupling and fan should easily come off the front of the motor. The motor should be held on by 4 screws to the motor tower in front of your air/oil cooler.

Does not spin and makes a noise like there is a bearing loose

You have a bad coupling..this machine does not have a belt..the motor is connected to the transmission with a coupling.pull clips off pump..remove pump...take 2 screws and two clips holding motor in place..remove wiring harness from motor..remove motor...replace coupling and reassemble. have included link to a picture of a coupling. part is around $8 hope this helps..please don't forget to rate my solution :) good luck!

My Bosch 3107dvs random orbital sander stopped working. The screw that holds the sanding disk stripped the part that it screws into. I can't tell from the exploded parts diagram, which part I need to...

To remove the Dust Fan/Coupling Assy. I did the following: I disassembled the plastic housing, removed the Backing Pad Pos. 733 and Dampening Ring Pos. 51.

It seems the Star Washer Pos. 29 holds Bearing Pos. 30. onto the armature shaft and the Coupling Pos. 27 seems to be stuck in Bearing Pos.29. I used a 30mm long M7 hex-head bolt and 11mm ratchet turning clockwise (std RH thread) to pull the Coupling and Star Washer off. Luckily, there was enough thread left in the coupling to do this gear-pulling action with the longer bolt.

To remove the rest of the Fan Assembly I removed the 2 screws Pos. 43 holding the Brush Holder Assembly, Noted the position and removed the Spring Clip Pos. 32, then removed the Armature w/ Fan and Dust Fan/Coupling Assemblies. Firmly gripping the armature I was able to remove the Dust Fan from the armature by turning it clockwise (LH Thread).

Now that I have removed the parts and believe I will be able to reassemble them, I have ordered a new Dust Fan/Coupling Assembly.

I hope this helps someone else having a similar problem.

Washing machine - Need to replace motor cupling on the kenmore 90 series

you have to access the coupling by removing the housing of the machine,

you can tilt it a little bit to the back so that the motor is in your front.
remove the water pump clamps so that you can remove the pump.

unscrew the screws holding the clamps of the motor.( hold the motor tight, it is heavy)
remove the clamps, the motor will fell..

remove the motor and you can see that the coupling is attached to its shaft.

one coupling goes to the shaft of the motor, the other coupling goes to gear box shafting, and the rubber ring is in between the two coupling.

normally, only one coupling is damaged and you can just replace that coupling. you have the other two parts as spare.

Does not spin

there is a coupling between the motor and gearbox, that fails.
it is a simple repair, and well worth trying

remove cabinet
  • pop off edge trims from control console
  • remove screwss from under edge trim
  • slide console forward and up ~1inch
  • flip the console over the back of the washer, the hinges are plastic and a little fragile
  • remove brass clips holding cabint inplace remember how they fit
  • lift cabinet ~1inch and remove forward
repair coupling
  • motor gearboxpump is at front bottom center
  • remove lock screw from clip holding pump to motor
  • remove two spring clips
  • pull pump off motor and swing sideways on hoses, tie off to left with a string
  • remove lock screw from clip holding motor to gearbox
  • remove two spring clips
  • pull motor off rubber coupling
  • pull nylon spider off gearbox shaft
  • pull nylon spider off motor shaft
  • install new spiders to shafts. Use a hammer to strike a wooden dowel on the center of the spider, dont hit the legs of the spider they break off

    Note the new coupling spiders have metal centers to stop further breakage, common fault
  • turn gearbox spider 1 leg up two legs down
    turn motor spider , 2 leg up 1 leg down so the spiders will interlock
  • install new rubber coupling on gearbox spider, install motor on coupling.
reassemble all clips and screws in reverse order
reassemble case in reverse order
on reassemble ensure plastic level sensing hose is not dislodged from water level switch body

takes longer to type than to do the repair
at parts store "Kenmore gearbox coupling" will get the correct part

Motor coupling

Pull the front cabinet off. The pump and motor need to be removed. The pump need not be completely removed, just push aside. Both the pump and motor are held on by simple snap clips.

The coupling must be carefully aligned when reinstalled. Be careful that the coupling pins line up when the motor is reinstalled.
