Well thank you for your reply. I am running on windows xp pro 64 bit. :) i think i may have fixed this driver problem...by formating my HD and installing mobo drivers from XFX.com which seems to work as the game has not froze on me so far. But for the graphic card drivers, dont get me wrong it works fine but i have to go into the files on the cd and manually select the setup file to install the drivers. It wont auto run. It shows a screen displaying "installing drivers" but does nothing...this is not a major problem and does not require a solution But i cant overclock by computer and i dont know why...just got a kick **** noctua cpu cooler..450 watt PS, maybe i need more power? It starts up then shuts down over and over if i let it, will only except the lowest overclock setting. THANKS!!

In my experience, game crashes usually occur due to graphic card drivers needing to be updated, they are either old or corrupt. Go to nvidia.com and download the latest drivers. Another thing to check is your device manager for any devices listed that are having trouble or not installed. I can help you more with this part if you tell me what operating system you are using.

Unfortunately yes most likely the GPU is toast at this point. Sounds to me like it overheated. The XFX HD5770 isn't that great of a video card to begin with.

Problem with Computer

Did you reset your BIOS ? Try reset your bios. remove the BIOS battery(RTC battery) and press the power button after disconnecting from wall socket. Short the jumper somewhere near to the BIOS chip. A user manual is helpful. If you can't find the jumper, simply short the two terminals inside theBIOS battery holder. That is two golden or steel coloured thin sheet like. Put back the battery after an hour and start the system. Tap the DEL button to enter into BIOS settings and change date and time first then boot device order(boot device priority) save and exit. See what is happening. If it solves the issue you have studied another troubleshooting tip. Hope this helps!!!

After installing Medieval 2 Total War Gold, when i boot the game up i get an error message saying an unspecified error has occurred and the game will now quit. how can i fix this issue

Hello,

Sorry to hear about your trouble. I own all of the Total War series and they are very great games. I will try to get you up and running so you can enjoy that classic!

I have heard of this error coming up due to corrupt game files. Meaning, you play a campaign and after 50 turns a certain saved game will be corrupted. The solution is to delete the game file, which would cause you to lose that play time but it will fix the error.

If you have not even started playing, then most likely there was an error during installation of the game. Try uninstalling the game, reboot the computer then reinstall the game.

Another possible issue is that your machine does not meet the system requirements to play the game, thus causing it to crash. Check and make sure your system meets the minimum system requirements.

Also, make sure your computer has updated drivers for the graphics card.

Lastly, if none of the above helps you, I would recommend contacting the support team for the game.

The M3N78-em mobo doesn't support AM3 processors. It is an AM2 / AM2+ platform. A wonderful GPU for you would be this. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102858

I bought a MSi 790gx-g65 mobo and an AMD Phenom II x4 940 which is am2+. Everything I've heard about this mobo is that it's am2+ and am3 capable, will the Phenom II am2+ I just bought work in this mobo?

Yes it will, but you'll need to update the bios to the latest one in order to be sure the processor is recognized. The 790 chipset will make that board an excellent performer with the Phenom 940. Give it as much dual channel ram as you can afford, up to the max of 4 gig for a 32 bit O/S or 64 gig for a 64 bit system.

You are going to need to unistall what you have installed.
  1. Re-install them in order. Install one and update it until there is no more updates. then install the expansion kindoms.
Make sure you uninstall first. Good luck. It is a great game... Let me know how it goes.
