That is the problem with all inkjet printers. I have a pin printer that I use when high quality is not necessary. It had a inexpensive ribbon IO replace once a year.

Thanks for the bad rating for telling you the truth. NONONONONONNONO

Sorry, I apoligize. I though you wanted an answer to how to avoid using so much ink, not the unstated question, in your mind, of how to ajust an inkjet that is common knoledge, nonajustable.

My HP OfficeJet J6480 All-in-One is leaving black vertical streaks on each side of the page when using the document feeder. Does not leave streaks when using the flatbed scanner. How do I correct

Hi

Just remove the ink cartridge. Clean the print head by a soft cloth with rubbing alcohol to remove some sticky or ink residue. Then rub the printhead into a plain paper until ink flows. Then run the print nozzle for 2 times.

I hope it helps you. Regards

HP officejet pro 8500 ink cartridge problem

Changing a printer cartridge is not complex but improper handling of the parts may damage the printer and the cartridge. If the user notices that while printing the ink comes out dry or faded, it may be time to change the ink or the toner. The user will know if it is time to change the toner because instead of a sharp image, one will get a faded image. It is time to change the ink cartridge when the printing comes out spotty or colors are used to replace others —for instance, blue for black or yellow for red. Remember, faded images signal the need to change the toner; spotty printing signals the need to change the ink cartridge get more help for change cartridge .
Hope this helps you.

Epson sx200 printer, wont print black ink only

Many printers especially Photo ones also use colour even when printing Black. so you do need to replace the spent colour cartridge.

If you only need to print in black get a B&W printer not a colour one.

My HP Officejet J6480 all-in-one gives me Cartridge error: Cartridge on right must be replaced. I have changed the cartridge but still get the message.

These types of 'severe' cartridge errors/alert messages (i.e. "refer to documentation" / "incompatible cartridges", "print cartridge(s) problem", etc.) typically indicates the internal micro-electronics of the HP #74/75 cartridge are damaged. The cartridge's electrical wire runs at rear and lower side of the ink cartridge, are very delicate and are somewhat susceptible to ink attack over time, which can lead to premature failures. In addition, the older the cartridge the higher the chance of an internal electrical failure. I suggest you first run a 'Tap 41' diagnostic test to check cartridges electrical health (this is a forced test); you may also bypass the error (temporarily) on most models which use HP 74/75 cartridges. My printer will say it's out of ink with hardly any use and I'm going through ink cartridges like crazy

Like ALL inkjets, unfortunately, your printer uses all carts all of the time, even for black prints.

Printer won't print in black

Here's a link to the HP online support solution for this problem. And this may pertain.
Make sure you have the correct settings in Print Preferences. And perhaps use the online manual available here to check other options related to the ink cartridges and printing problems....
But I have to admit I know of no way to keep the color cartridge from printing, nor from having to buy another cartridge (short of refilling it). I am intrigued by the notion that you can possibly get a grey photo cartridge instead of the tri-color cartridge to print black and white photos and richer blacks...but have never tried this, and don't know for sure if it's an option for your model....

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue. If you need further assistance, please post back with a comment to this thread.
If I've managed to answer your question or solve a problem, please take just a moment to rate this post....thanks!

HP Officejet J6480 ink level control

Your printer is the genune hp printer. It will not show the ink level of refilled and non-HP cartridges. Try the original one the problem will get rectified.

Printer will not recognize refilled black HP cartridge (#74)

Try to get your printer to recognize the new cartridge; go to start - printer and faxes -right click on printer - preferences (printing preferences) -settings -load factory settings. Print test page Ctrl+P

Please post if that worked.

Printer goes throught the motions of printing, but what comes out is a clean page - no ink

I had the same issue when I replaced the printer and kept the old cartridges I had just purchased. The OK button I pressed was on the PRINTER not the PC. You dont say the model printer you have. Mine is an all-in-one J6480.
