Question about Mercedes E-class Pillar Posts Trim Set

Harmon Karden Stereo

My Center Channel Speakers are still working but the speakers in the door and back window do not have sound any longer. I could not locate the amplifier as it appears it is probably a "Fuse" at the amplifier for surround sound? Can you tell me where the fuse box on the amp is located and how to access it? And if you think this is a different problem? It is not a lame owner problem like turn on settings differently...The settings are fine. Thanks! Mike

Well first of all, in my experience the Amp is usually located in the trunk behind the lining, usually opposite side of power antenna because antenna motor and such is on the same side as the antenna itself, if not found there then under one of the seats is another place. once located the fuses should be on the amp itself, usually a 20 or 30 tab fuse but in most cases it is the larger style not the mini. I personally do not think the amp fuse is your issue though. Sounds like more of a wire issue or board issue in the radio head itself, before you go chasing wires and all that check owners manual for a radio reset steps in a lot of cases this will also fix sounds issues, BUT make sure you have your radio reset code FIRST or you may get locked out, if you do not know your code you can call dealer with vin info and they can get it for you. Hope this helps-

Can a center channel speaker be added to a harmon karden 3385 av receiever

Nope, 3385 is Stereo only, IE right and left. It has no processing for multi channel audio. It is an absolutely fantastic bullet proof stereo receiver but will never operate as a home theater unit.

If you want a center and rears you need and AVR series receiver.

Cheers,

Kevin

I can hear the music when playing dvd's on my Spectoniq dvd player, but can't hear when people talk. Can anyone help me?

Yes, I can help you. Your DVD player should have output connectors in the back of it to plug your amplifier or receiver into. If you have a Stereo system (no surround sound speakers, or front center speaker) connect the DVD Audio Cables on the back of the DVD player to the STEREO Output Jacks. If it is connected to the Left Front and Right Front jacks of the "Surround Sound" output jacks instead of Stereo is that the dialog on is sent to the CENTER channel output. If you have no center channel speaker you will not hear it.
If you have a surround sound system with two speakers in front and two speaker in back. Then you need to make a change in the Receiver Setup (Which may be set up for 3 speakers in front) so that it is set up for 2 speakers in front.
The last thing my simply be that you have a center channel front speaker that is not completely connected because of a wire falling off, etc.
Hope this helps,
Best,
Mark

Get no sound from rear speakers WITH ipod

I have exactly the same problem - don't work with CDs either, just radio. Just installed the deck yesterday. Help would be appreciated. Have been through the manual front-to-back.

Back speaker sound

Why would you only hook up one speaker for the rear channel? in 7 channel stereo, all speakers have 100% signal sent to them as "stereo" in Dolby digital, rear speakers are for "effects" not dialog. like a plane flying past you or a car driving by, that's when you hear a rear speaker. It also needs to be placed behind you, not next to you or in front of you. Unless you are using zone 2 & 3 the receiver's surround back will work. if you only have left, right, center, sub & rear; the rear speakers should go to surround speakers not surround back. If you still have questions, post a comment and I can explain further. Hope this helps

Center and surround speakers work, but front right and front left speakers do not put out any sound

I had the same problem. Set the reciever on 6 channel stereo. On this setting, you should be getting the same sound out of each speaker. Isolate which speakers aren't getting sound. Now, on your speaker switch (the A/B button), select A. If that doesn't fix it, select B. If that doesn't fix it, try A and B (if you can on your reciever).

Now, when you switch back to pro-logic, make sure your a/b channel switch is in the position that worked in 6 channel stereo. Yamaha recievers have a memory, and when you switch various modes, it makes auto adjustments based on what you had set in the past.

Hope this helps

No dialog sound when watching DVD's

The problem is that your center channel is not functioning correctly.  Dialogue is typically routed to the center channel only in 5.1, so if you don't have a working center channel all you will get is sound FX and background sound.
Go through all your settings, verify that they are correct.  Verify that your center channel is working properly, and wired to the correct output.
Test the center channel speaker and I feel confident you will find something amiss.

NO surround sound coming from our harmon/kardon speakers when set up to our onkyo tx-sr601 receiver. wires connected in correct areas, front left, right and center speakers work, subwoofer works. setup for...

So your saying that you have no rear channel. Some recivers use a single stereo output ic for both sides on the rear speakers. you could have a defect with this IC . Anther thing Im sure you check3ed the obvious ie : the switch is on suround sound? If there is a front to rear fader is it in the middle? Good Luck
