Question about Jura Capresso C1000 Espresso & Coffee Maker
I just picked up a C1000 that hasn't been used in a while from a neighbor. I tried going through the "first time prep" procedures, however all 4 lights on the front continue to blink and no water comes out of the machine. I can't run any of the cleaning cycles because it always comes back to this. I called support today and the guy said it sounded like the pump was broke and it would be $200 to repair. Granted $200 is cheap for one of these, but that's why these have always been to rich for our blood. Is the pump something I can replace? Any other ideas what could be the issue?

I had the same problem and was about to take the machine apart when my girlfriend suggested I call customer service instead. Turns out when changing the filter, the air inside the new filter got sucked inside the machine causing a solenoir valve to airlock shut. You need to immerse the new filter in water before installing in the tank. All you do is keep pressing the steam button for 10 or 15 minutes at a time to jar loose the valve. Make sure you give the pump a rest every 10 minutes or so, or when the sound changes significantly so you dont burn it out. I did about 5 rounds of this yesterday and gave up, thinking I need to take it in for service....turned it on this morning for a few pushes and it worked. Be patient.

Call Capresso co. at 1-800-220-5701. I had a problem and I received excellent help, a step by step walk -through which got my machine back to service. Great machine! Great help!

I think the magnetic valve is defective. This is located on the left side (seen from behind inside the machine) and there`s connections between the thermoblock and the hot water outlet. Try to press the steambutton and check if the magnetic valve clicks, and maybe check with a voltmeter if it`s receiving power.
PS. During steamprocessing the pump just have small ticking sound, and not the same sound as during brewing. There is no way around this Fill system message, and the reset function is not activated until any System Messages has been clared.
