Question about Toro 42 In Deck 19 Hp Kohler Courage Twin Cam Zero Turn Mower

Open Question

Toro Z4200 Starts, Runs, but wil not move and Arms are resistant

I was mowing outside and the mower's arms just stopped moving (or giving me resistance) so i disengaged the blade and what not. Well it is sitting there and will not go forward or backwards. Even when I pull the pins on each side that lets me push the mower, the mower will not move manually either. It will neither go forward nor go into reverse. Again, the engine still starts, the blade engages and disengages great, I replaced some fuses. I was thinking a belt problem or something so I checked them and need to double check since its daytime, but it happened while mowing. I need help fixing this and if anyone could give an explanation along with a picture or digram so I can see where and what I need to do. ANY HELP IS MUCH APPRECIATED WITH SOME KIND OF DIAGRAM WOULD BE GREAT OR LINK TO ONE. THANKS!!!!!

SOURCE: Hello my name is David I have a 50inch toro ride

Why wasn't the mower just started up and moved under it's own power, instead of disconnecting the handles? Did the mower run prior to handle disengagement?

SOURCE: I have a Toro 38"

Have you checked out the seat safety switch and also is your mower capable of cutting in reverse? There are aslo safety switches on some models that kill the blades when backing up. Check these and see if you can find an issue with one of these. Sounds like one of the safety switches is going bad and killing the blades and then restarting them, if not then you may have a bad electric clutch or a loose wire on the clutch. Let me know what you find.

Mx5050 toro zero turn mower, one drive arm more dominant than the other. With both arms all the way forward the mower slightly turns to the left. Any adjustments to correct this issue?

1st with mover off verify that both handles move same amount forward , I use a string to measure them , they both have mechanical stops that do bend and move sometimes
second locate control body valve , (thing that handles connect too) there should be a pump pressure adjust (allen key) on the side of this your gonna need to make small adjustments and try it , is difficult to do if you don't have a lift to elevate wheels of mower (but is possible without ) but takes patience

I have a toro zero turn z4200 starts and runs fine but when I put arms in gear, it will not move forward or backward.

Make sure the drives are engaged. Under the seat and towards the rear are two thin metal levers with finger loops. These are used to disengage the drives in order to push the mower when the engine is off. Levers towards the back to engage.
Good luck

The motion control levers became tight to move and

You may have some bent or out of adjustment linkages, causing the brakes to stay on.
Or the friction nut (one on each transmission) is too tight. These are located just in front of the axel, they go through a slot, the washer behind the nut should turn freely

Dual blade mower leaves uncut strips between blades.

Had same uneven mowing problem with new Toro Z4200 XTR mower. Problem was one side of the U-shaped rear deck hanger rod had popped out of its chassis mount (did hit something with mowing deck). Removed hanger chassis mount & its bolt. Put end of U-shaped rear deck hanger rod back in the chassis mount and remounted hanger chassis mount & its bolt. Z4200 now cuts lawn evenly again.
