SOURCE: replace bearing
You can try a puller but typically it is recommended to replace the entire rear outer tub half (which comes with the bearings already pressed into it). You will also need the tub seal that goes between the front and rear tub halves. Hope this helps.

Bearing cost about $450.00 plus labor. Major job. Better looking for a new washer. Sears outlet sell good washer at cheaper price.

SOURCE: The bearings in the Maytag
If you think that there is no shake or play in the bearings a good wash with kerosene or diesel will take away all the dirt that causes the noise. The use light grease/heavy oil (90) to fill into the bearings.
Tip: repeat the washing with the diesel, use a good small brush and hold a tray under to pour the diesel and collect on to the tray till the noise subsides.
However if the bearings are still noisy then I think you need not replace the drum .
If Helpful credit me for the tip.

When the rear bearing goes the best thing to do is shop for a replacement.
The rear bearing is not an economical repair to make and will cost more then the replacement with a similar new washer.
The bearing is built into the rear half of the tub and the entire washer must be torn down to replace it.
