Question about PC Desktops
- Desktop: Compaq Presario S4000V
- Most freezes happens when I start the PC but can happen anytime
-- It happens at least a few times whenever I try to start the PC
- Additionally, the desktop gets logout by itself and reboot
-- in the middle of my search or reading or using MS Word
- It happens so often every day! why?
-- What can I do to fix it?
- Have enough Mem & Disk space
-- If above problem(s) is fixed, the rest of the PC works okay
- Would very much appreciate your help
This could be a couple of things, overheating may cause it to randomly shut down, but if it freezes up on you then it could be a motherboard issue or memory. When you boot up your computer, does it beep at you at all? More than 1 beep signifies a problem. Right click on the my computer icon and click properties, see how much memory it says you have, does that number look accurate? A bad memory module could cause similar problems. A bad motherboard would, in my experience, more often freeze when you first boot up.
