Question about HP W1707 LCD Monitor

HP W1707 is not getting 1440 X 900 resolution in windows XP.


Hi,

I have SIS 305 AGP 32MB card and I am using a HP LCD W1707. I am bot getting 1440X900 resolution in my Display property window.

I am currently using SIS 305 v1.5 driver.

Can you please assist me to get 1440X900 resolution in windows XP.

I have tried in Ubuntu 8.10 Demo installation and I am getting 1400X900 resolution in that.

    Ok but when I am loading Ubuntu then I can get 1440 x 9000 resolution is that.

    Can you suggest me any best with cheep price?

You might need a better graphics card.

    no one really uses that screen resolution. Are you trying to tell me that you cannot use any other resolution?

Regarding this particular model, this has AGP (Accelerated Graphics Port) 4X expansion slot for graphics cards, I don't think it is still available in the market, you may try to purchase a good second hand graphics card for this and this is fully compatible with windows XP.
Just ask for AGP 4X compatible cards, available graphics memory will be 64 MB, 128 MB and 256 MB. Hope this helps.

your video card setting may not be compatible with your monitor's capability. you may need to reduce the screen resolution. you need to boot up on safe mode to change this or use another monitor for a while and try to adjust the screen resolution.

The hp w1707 moniter won't show the image from the driver


screen resolution is too high, try it first with 1024x768, if it wont work, your LCD needs servicing..

This reduce the resulation when i resart the system


you have to install AGP card into an AGP slot then you can see high resolution because internal display card does not support to high resolution

install an AGP card into an AGP slot because internal display card of motherboard does not support to high resolution .use 8X AGP card for better result dont use updated version like windows 7 or vista drivers may not support

yes it will not support bacause there is an internal display card you are just looking its disadvantage so you must attatch the AGP card then it will support all video graphics

Drivers for Sis 315 E 32 mb

That is the latest driver I think is available for that card.

Am not sure that you can achieve your desired resolution of 1440x900 though?
