Check and make sure you put the clutch pack in right and not backwards. That is what it sounds like happened.

SOURCE: removing chuck from Makita 64C1 drill

secure the short end of an allen wrench in the chuck, making sure it is as tight as possoble. Useing a wood or hard rubber mallet strick the long end of the allen wrench so it turns counter-clockwise. This should loosen the chuck from the spindle enough that you can unscrew it by hand.

SOURCE: Ive got a makita ZIC-26 hammer drill and the drill

if this is an SDS try grabbing the bit with some vice grips and jiggling it back and forth. DO Not do this when its plugged in or has a battery hooked up. (your model # did not mach an online search so I don't know what you've got. Also a bit of WD-40 or the like may help loosen it up.

Makita impact driver wobble

Many of my customers that use this tool heavily have the same problem. It's usually the Hammer Case (PN 154590-6). The nose if the case is the bushing that holds the anvil in place and sometimes wears out of round. Rarely the anvil (PN 324432-0) wears where it passes through the hammer case so check that also.

The screw point got stuck inside of the makita

Low quality steel drill bits get stuck in the Makita because the hammer impact squashes the metal, forming a ridge that gets snagged on the anvil's steel ball bearing. Use only impact drill bits.

Hi mybankston,

Welcome to fixya!

More than likely you need new brushes. Copy and paste this web address into your browser and a diagram and parts list for your drill will open up: http://www.toolpartsdirect.com/cgi-bin/schematic.cgi/makita/6914D

This is a good place to get parts. Fast service and delivery!

My makita impact driver has lost power. it seems to be using the hammer much more and seems to be slipping. both the hammer and the andvil don't appear worn. the bushes are fine. what could be the problem?

This is more then likely caused by the plastic gears inside the drill wearing down. Makita may replace/repair under warranty depending on when you purchased the drill.

My Makita BHP451 Li ion battery drill periodically the varible speed does not work, ie. the button works as a on/off switch - any idea what's wrong. Thanks Bjarne

Bjarne, odds are the variable speed function of the trigger is failing. There are Makita repair centers that perform repair, and sell parts if you want to take it on as a DIY project. Before proceeding, I would make sure the warranty has expired. If it is still in warranty a Makita repair center should repair it for no charge.

Makita impact driver dead spots

Depends on model you have. There are 2 brushless models - BTD132 (14.4V) and BTD144 (18V) - both have big BL letters on housing. According to your picture, you have BTD140 which has brushes. When you open user manual, you can find section dedicated to changing brushes. In case it does not help, you migh want to check trigger. Juraj

I have a Makita 6935 FDWDE. I need to separate the two halves for repairs but I can't figure out how. I have all current drawings but it doesn't really show anything.   Any help would be appreciated.

Beware that if all the screws are removed try to open with a sharp knife between the housing and if not worked then knock him open with hammer around rapping , because of heat (melting) problems
